The ACHARYA SHREE YOGEESH Podcast
Paryushan 2023, Day 4: Spiritual Liberation, Ego Destruction and Meditation Techniques
Acharya Shree continues his deep dive into soul and meditation. There are two things eternal, soul and matter. Matter has 5 elements and matter is also karma. Soul + Matter = jivatma (a living being); Soul - Matter = paraatma (God); thus Soul is God.
An inner click and awakening are glimpses into the soul where you begin to realize the non-truth of the world and the truth of your soul. When the clicks are too strong, it's difficult to continue living in illusion because now you've connected to soul. But the journey doesn't stop there, you must begin to work on your lower qualities, especially your ego.
The ego blocks all the souls light, so it is important to start dissolving it. Ego is the real sin and keeps you away from soul. When you meditate and enter the higher states of meditation and consciousness you realize more and more you are soul and not the mind. That is how to dissolve your ego. Unless you are in a higher state the ego will control and ruin your life.
In the Paryushan Series of 2023, Acharya Shree focuses on Meditation and sharing tips, techniques and teachings to help you arrive at your self. The path to Godhood is through the human body, are you ready for it?

Jai Sadama, everyone. This is Sadhvi Sadheli Sri, here with my spiritual teacher and guru, acharya Sri Yogish, for the 2023 Paryushan series of Acharya Sri's podcast. Acharya Sri is a respected, enlightened one who has helped thousands of souls progress on their spiritual path and totally transform. Paryushan is an eight-day celebration of the soul, dedicated to reflection, fasting and spiritual learning. Welcome to all of our new listeners and thank you for tuning in.
Speaker 2:Paryushan Purve, the purest spiritual celebration. It talks about only about the self, the soul. And soul is the only one which is eternal. There are another material which is eternal to matter, soul and matter. What is matter? Whatever is visible in this world, that is called matter. Our body is made out of matter. It has five elements earth, air, fire, water, space. That is five elements. That is the combination of our body. This is all matter. Only two things are eternal here. Two elements are eternal either soul, either matter.
Speaker 2:When the soul mix with the matter, it becomes a Jeeva. Jeeva means living being. No matter it is a bacteria, no matter it is a bea, no matter it is a other creature, little bugs. They carry two things soul plus matter, the combination of the matter. When it comes in the, it connects with the soul. It creates a Jeeva, living being. We call it living being. They can be invisible, they can be visible. Bacterias are not visible, but with advanced technology it is visible now. But our naked eyes cannot see.
Speaker 2:It is a very simple theory. When soul plus matter, mathematically, if you want to understand, it is a very simple thing. When soul plus matter, it becomes a Jeevatma equals Jeevatma. Jeevatma means like living being that is called Jeevatma and all these karma matter is a karma matter has a particle. Like karma has a particle too. Karma are visible. Whatever you do, they are visible. People get angry and they collect the bad karma Right. Anger has a particle, but it is not visible through our naked eyes. But when person is angry, you can see it, the energy vibration around that person. You will be uncomfortable. So it is visible, it is Karma is visible. Soul plus matter or soul plus karma is the same thing Equals Jeevatma. If somebody wants to liberate herself himself, there is a mathematical formula Soul plus matter equals Jeevatma.
Speaker 2:Soul minus matter. Subtract the matter from the soul, it becomes Paramatma. Paramatma means God. So you have that ability to becoming God, but you have to release, or you have to divorce, or you have to renounce all this matter. You have to renounce all this karma and it becomes a pure soul, and pure soul is equals to Paramatma. Pure soul, nothing left in it, no matter. Combination is broken. Once the combination is broken, matter becomes separate, soul becomes separate, and now soul cannot be connected with the matter Because it becomes the purest soul, and once somebody becomes pure, it cannot be impure again. So now the question arises According to their faith of religions, that if Mahavira becomes pure soul or Buddha becomes pure soul or, according to Christianity, Jesus becomes pure soul, do they come back again? Once you become pure soul, once your combination is broken, you become like a gold.
Speaker 2:I am not talking about the diamond. Diamond is not as valuable as gold days. I am going to give you an example. I was talking one day that your friends are like a diamond. Your friends are like a diamond. But your brothers, sisters, your own family, they are like a gold. Your friends are around you. If you are in lot of prosperity, you are making good money, you have nice cars, you have nice house, Everything is green Means, everything is prospering around you. Lot of your friends, they are like diamonds. As soon as something happens in your business or video, they are the first one to leave you. But your family, your brothers, your mother, your father, they are like a gold. They are like a gold. Why they are so downward from the diamonds? Your own family is like a gold. I am going to tell you they are not like a diamond Because if diamonds little crack happen in the diamond it is no value, but a gold even it breaks Even. We fight too much. Even gold breaks, you can recover it fully. You take to the goldsmith. They will melt it and they can make whatever you want your family, your brothers, your sisters, even you don't get along with them. They are like gold and once somebody becomes a gold it is hard to make it down. It is very difficult To turn a gold to the iron it is not possible. But iron you can turn to the gold.
Speaker 2:One very poor guy, disturbed, confused, illusion, totally. He was searching, discovering something truth, Hand to mouth, worn out clothes, but his journey. He didn't want to live into this world, he was finding someone who can guide him. He reached in the forest. He saw a little hurt there.
Speaker 2:A very kind of sage, a saint, a monk, was sitting inside the hut. He sat in front of him. He was in meditation. When he opened his eye he said Give me something please. I am starving, I am, I don't have anything. If you can bless me something, it can happen to me something. He said Look, I have nothing to give to you. I have nothing, I don't have even food. I am sitting in the hut here, I am meditating. I don't have anything to give to you. You can go somewhere else. But he insisted he didn't live. He said Give me something, please Give me something. He was begging, begging. He said Look at it, Go that river, there you will find a stone. This stone is very valuable. This stone is called Paris stone, Paris stone, Paris stone is a special alchemy. It is very rare to find.
Speaker 2:But these shaffered people, shaffered boy, they know it Sometimes what they do, Because it is rare to find it. Maybe in the mountain, a little rock, they put a special shoe under their sheep's feet, Like the horse shoe we plant into the under the horse foot, Horse shoe, same way Sheep shoe or goat shoe. They do it and they have hundreds of sheeps and they go sometime and they shaffered they are looking in the evening everybody's shoe. Sometime it turns into the gold. They try to find out where the stone. As soon as it touches it it becomes gold. But they cannot find it. But sometimes they are lucky. A shoe turns to the gold.
Speaker 2:He found that stone and he said I am rich, I can make all iron into the, Because as soon as you touch the iron with that stone it turns to be the gold. There is alchemy also. You can make gold. There are scientists. Now they are trying to make gold. I have experimented this in my teenage, five years. It is a long process. You can make iron a gold, but the process is so expensive it is less value. But there is now proven you can turn iron to the gold.
Speaker 2:But he found the easy way and he ran away. He turned to the world but suddenly something clicked to him. That's why I am so excited this monk. He knew it. It is there. He renounced it Must be. He knows something else. He came back to him. He said take your stone, I don't need it. That you are the richest one. Why don't you need it? It means that it doesn't have a value. If it had a value, why did you throw it away to the bank of the river? You knew it. Give me something which is valuable, that it is already given to you. He said the real valuable thing is when your soul is awakened, when something clicks to you. That is the most valuable thing. All these things material, nothing valuable.
Speaker 2:If you plant a little, suppose a plant, plant of spicy, like chilies, that chili, that plant, after couple of month is begin to give you the fruit and it gives you lot of chilies. But if you plant a tree of mango tree, it takes four years to bring the fruit. The process is little longer now and it can give. The mango tree can give you fruit almost 200 years, but chili plant can give you maybe for few months. Right, Look at this difference. Difference is that it can give you even 200. I am giving you last time, Maybe it can go up to 400 years. It gives fruit, fruit, fruit, but process is little longer. You have to wait longer If you want to get success in your life in any way. Believe in your efforts. It takes maybe four years. You have to wait, but you will going to get the fruit, you going to get the result, you going to get the real thing. But if you don't have a patience, he threw that stone away. He said that's what I was discovering To find myself clicked.
Speaker 2:Anta-shchetna, Inner Awakening. Inner Awakening doesn't happen unless something clicks to you. If it doesn't click to you, that doesn't happen Because there are so many distractions. That's what I was telling you. We have a problem.
Speaker 2:A midnight, a man is sitting in his hut. He has nothing there. He has a little lamp Like a candle and he was reading some kind of scripture. After midnight he had to go to bed. He blew the candle off and as soon as the candle was blown out, all the full moon light entered into his hut. The full moon light entered and it was lighted in his hut, he said. He began to think see how the click will going to happen. It can happen in any way. It has nothing to do with scripture. He was reading scriptures but it didn't happen to him. By reading Bible, by reading Gita, by reading Quran, by reading any Talmud and Jewish Torah, Torah doesn't mean it's going to happen to you. Or Jain scripture doesn't mean it's going to happen to you. There are many scholars. They memorize even their whole. But click, it happened. Wow, A little candle was able to block the whole moon light and it was outside. But as soon as the candle is gone, the moon light entered into my heart. Click happened to him.
Speaker 2:That's what we creating our life little ego like a little candle and those little ego everywhere is ego Ego. Little money you made becomes so egoistic. A car, you bought something, I have a Rolls Royce Become ego. Ego entered into little. All little kind of ego is blocking your light. How?
Speaker 2:A young girl came to my cell. He said I have a question. I heard your lecture several times and you said Ego is a sin. My question is if it is a sin, I have to go to hell. Right, ego is a sin, bad.
Speaker 2:My question is whenever I stand in front of a mirror, when I see myself into the mirror, I see I am the most beautiful. I had a most beautiful face. Not only beautiful, elegant, not only elegant. I am so gorgeous, I get so much ego. He sent smile. He said my child, false ego is not a sin. That's what we are wondering in these egos everywhere. I can categorize it, but it will take a lot of time.
Speaker 2:But yes, the little candle of the egos. We are carrying maybe thousands of candles and they are blocking the light that is outside. They are blockers and when they block your light, the light of the shining moon, the shining soul is totally blocked. It cannot enter in you. You have to remove all these things from your life and you will be surprised that click will going to happen Right away. Click doesn't take time to happen. It can happen right away Once you remove all these little candles from your life of ego, that all false ego. You think it is a sin. No, false ego is not a sin. Real ego is a sin.
Speaker 2:Let me come to the point that I was talking about. I was talking about the meditation. Meditation can light your soul. Meditation is not a false ego. Meditation is a real lamp. It is not like little candles you are carrying in it. It can block the moonlight, it can block all these little candles, little egos, your light from the soul. So. But meditation is a fire. It can burn all these little egos and it will be clarity in front of you what they burn.
Speaker 2:It Just Navijjati Rago, dosho Moho Ney Jog Parikamu Tas Suha, suhu Dahno Jhaan Gaya Jaya Age. Panchasthika Esar. Panchasthika Esar is a one scripture of the Digambar sect, Another sect, and it is a beautiful book. It is a small book but it is, they consider. It is a scripture 146 Gatha in it, just in a Vijjati Rago, they say that if person doesn't have any attachment, rago means attachment, if the attachment because attachment is the one who keeps us into the dark, if some, if you have a rock or if you have an attachment towards anyone and that person is very bad person, suppose it has all shortcoming, does all the time mistake, but if you are attached to that person you don't see their mistake Because you are attached. Ragi, we call it Ragi. Who is attached? Ragi, dosho na pasyati Ragi. Attached person cannot see other person's shortcomings or other person's mistakes Because it is attached. But on the other hand, if person is hatred, hateful that person. If somebody is hate the other person, that person may be carrying the lot of good qualities. He cannot see one good quality Right.
Speaker 1:Because he is a hateful.
Speaker 2:So think about it. What you want to? Just in a Vijyadi Rago, that person who removed already the attachment from the life and dosho, and hate too. One is hate, one is hater. The two things Hater, hater is very bad stuff. Hate can be removed one day. A person who is hateful can be very loving one day. But person who built the hater, it cannot be removed. It is in your storage.
Speaker 2:Little too much you collecting hate, hate, hate, hate. It builds up, builds up, is a one layer of the dust, another layer of the dust, another layer, hundreds, millions layers of the dust. It becomes hater. You never forget, cannot sleep, cannot walk, cannot work. Hater is the worst thing. So is Raga. Raga is also attachment is the same and both are very much suffering in the world and it is the biggest blockage in your meditation. That's what they are telling here, that, just in a Vijjadi Rago, the person who doesn't have an attachment means not too much, too much attachment and dosho and no hater. And moho. Moho means not illusion and jog parikam and their mind, their body, their speech is not into it, into the worldly thing, into the suffering things, these four things they are talking about. Thus says Suha Suha Dhanu, that whatever their good thoughts or bad thoughts coming into their mind, dhanu, they begin to burn. Suha and asubha. Suha means good thoughts, asubha means bad thoughts, because both are the blockages you think. The good thoughts are not your blockages, they are even worse than the bad one. But if you are not aware about it, let me give you an example Handcuffs, they are made of steel, but you eat, eat, tie the person, that person. But you made that handcuff to the gold. It can tie too, but gold is a good stuff, but it ties too. So both are keep you in the suffering, in the suffering of pain. No matter it is a iron steel handcuffs or gold handcuffs, it doesn't matter. Both they tie you, both they keep you into the suffering. So that's called shubha, shubhi yoga, good and bad. When they begin to burn, then what happens? Jhani ayo jaayayay aggi, then the meditation fire will begin. Meditation fire will happen. And once the meditation fire happens, everything is going to burn, everything. And when it burns, your mind becomes totally clear and clarity happens. Click is going to happen. Without clarity, your click never going to happen. Click can happen. If there is no bad thoughts, there is no good thoughts. Both. Both are keeping you into the world. The time will come if you really want to unblock or if you really want to click something real thing into you, if you want to burn all your karma. Karma is both good and bad. They both keep you into the world. Time will come. First you work on the bad karma, then time will come you work on your good karma too, because both they keeping you into the world and when you out of cycle, then the meditation begins. Meditation will not begin. What is the technique? Now I am going to give you the technique how you meditate. If you follow this technique, you are able to meditate.
Speaker 2:This is a book is written by someone. It is called Parasna Ho Charayam, parashranath life of Parashranath, parasna Ho Charayam. It is written in Prakriti language, but that Parasna Ho Charayam. It is the page 359 to 367. That one this is written there. The technique Technique is Parashranath is the 23rd Tirthankar, 23rd Tirthankar of Jain system and it happened almost 2900 years ago.
Speaker 2:He is a very historical. I have visited his, where he was born, that place. I was in that city and it's lot of memory came to me. That time it was his palace. Now it turned to be the temple of him and people go visit there, 100,000, millions people a year. Varanasi, holy city of India, and somebody wrote about his life Parasna Ho Charayam Gives the technique there, what he used to teach, puvabhimaho uttermuhova hon sui samaya ho jaya samai jutto sahasannatho sui sariro. That is the technique is given into that book.
Speaker 2:Puvabhimaho, that you face your face yourself. Your face is towards the east, towards the east, or Uttermuho, are you faced towards the north when you meditate? He said that when you sit and how to sit they will tell you also First you face your either east side or north side. Your face has to be towards the north or towards the east. Sui Samayaro means age, like you have the very good thoughts.
Speaker 2:Shuddha-achar means like you are in the good moods, totally there when you are sitting into meditation. Shuddha-achar means like you clean your body, clean everything, bathe or take a shower, because it will help you everything. If your body is perspiring, sweating, you might begin to smell your body right. So Shuddha-Acharo, that in your mind also, all good thoughts are coming. It is called Sui Samayato Jaya Samayi Jutto. He said the meditator has to be Samadhi Yukta. Samadhi Jutto means Samadhi Yukta, that you are dissolving your mind into the Samadhi. Samadhi means now you are not distracted, you are not here and there, your thoughts are not spread all over, you are totally like closing your eyes and sitting. And how you sitting? Sui Samadho, meditative posture. What is the meditative posture Means?
Speaker 2:When you can sit and you feel comfortable in any position. Usually the yogis they sit into the cross leg because there is a system to. If you sit in the cross leg, there are two nerves into your hair. One foot presses this nerve and another foot presses this side's legs nerve. And those two nerves they are connected to your brain and as soon as they are pressed, you can test on your body by yourself. You press, here it is, you can feel a sensation, you can feel. You can feel it is a beat, beat of those nerves and you can feel it when you feel that beat and this side beat when your cross leg. It presses it. So the beat is on the nerve.
Speaker 2:Now you are putting pressure and as soon as you put pressure, the beat speed will change. When the beat speed will change, it is directly connected to your brain and brain begins to release certain kind of chemical. But if speed is not going to change, it is not going to create that kind of chemical. As soon as it's brain creates, produce that kind of chemical, you are totally in samavastha, you are totally. Your thoughts disappear. That is one way.
Speaker 2:But if you cannot sit that way, whatever feels comfortable for you, you can do it. If you cannot even have half cross legs sometimes they can do half way, not the both legs so whatever is good for you you can do. If you cannot even sit on the floor, you can sit on the chair and be created for people below meditation, below why we created meditation pillow. It is the. If you sit on the pillow, your backbone becomes straight. If your backbone is not straight, meditation is not going to happen. Why? Because if your backbone is not straight, you are going to fall asleep Instead of people think oh, you are in meditation, your eyes are closed, so people think, but inside you are asleep. Why? Because if you sit like this, your backbone is not straight. It has to be totally 90 degree, and when it is 90 degree, that is the way in the your meditation will going to happen.
Speaker 2:Su Sanatva, sui Saree, suci Saree, suci Saree means the very. Your body is totally clean. Now one thing I can tell you meditation can happen in one way If you eat light food. Lighter food means easy to meditate and lighter food. What is lighter food which can digest quickly, like if you eat watermelon, it takes only 20 minutes to digest. If you eat fruit, maybe maximum one hour. But if you eat vegetables or grains, little bit, it might take 4 hours. So it is increasing. Now If you take grosser food, gross, gross food, kind of very heavy food, then it is a big blockage is in your meditation because it will create laziness.
Speaker 2:When it creates laziness you will fall asleep. And what is the symptom? If it is a light food or gross food, grosser food is not good. It means if you are hungry and you eat a lunch and you fall asleep after eating, it means it was not a good food for you, it was not a light. Light food creates energy, easy to digest. It will create a lot of energy. You become so active. But if you become lazy, it means it was not a good food or you have eaten too much food, overeating. Then it is a big blockage of the meditation. So Shuchi is a hero.
Speaker 2:This is the condition he said. First, either you face to the east or face to the north, and after that should achar good thoughts in your mind Because you are in the good mood to do something good. So all these bad thoughts disappear. And the meditator what you do, it can be in the samadhi, it can be in totally meditative state when they sit into the comfortable position and also clean body. That is the way. If your body is not clean, I don't think so you can meditate. So that is the conditions he put.
Speaker 2:Not only that, in the same book, in the 52 pages, another one more technique is given Pali-yankam bandheu. Pali-yankam means cross-leg, the real meditative state. Pali-yankam bandheu nisiddh man vayan kaya vayaro. That when you sit into the cross-leg and you have discipline on your mind, on your speech, on your body, all three things, these are the three things which we need to discipline, nothing else. If you have discipline on your mind, on your speech and on your body.
Speaker 2:If you have seen our hair, tirtha. Tirtha is a kalash. On the kalash you see the Shiva statue. It is very beautiful there. If you will go, you will see there there is a Trishula. It seems like Hindu mythology. They call it weapon that Shiva kills bad people. On the one side you think Shiva is a God. How God can kill people? Because, for God. God created us For God. He is a bad or is good, they are both equal. But they put in his hand a weapon. It is called Trishula. Trishula means three thorns there. If you will see, there there are three thorns, but Hindu took it wrong way. Shiva never kills God. Never kills anyone For God.
Speaker 2:If God is a father, no matter it is a good children or bad children, a father will treat them equally. He will even put more efforts to make bad person to good. Right, the good is already a good, but he will put more efforts. So God never going to kill. I was reading in one Sanskrit book and it might give you little idea and it is wonderful which variksha or peace somewhere dhaya svayam chhetum asampratam Rijya Prabhavar. Build a Sanskrit that even by mistake, you have planted a poison tree, poison tree by mistake, and it is growing. Now, when it is growing, it become big. Now, svayam chhetum asampratam. It is not good. You can cut it now, that one, because you grow it. You have grown this tree. Now don't cut it. Let it stay there. If your son, your daughter becomes bad, you cannot kill it. No, svayam chhetum asampratam, even by mistake, it is a poison tree. Don't cut it. God never kills anyone. What is that symbol? It is a symbolical that it is his main teachings. Main teaching says have a. He is showing people I have a totally control on these three souls. Souls means three thorn, three shul, three thorn. What is real thorn which blocks your path? Mind first. One. Mind is the biggest thorn. If you can make it better. Have a discipline on your mind. It doesn't become a thorn again, it becomes a clear clarity. Speech is the biggest thorn. All belliver, mouth, bad mouth, everybody becomes your enemies. Right, it is the biggest thorn. And body is the biggest thorn on your way. If you eat bad, if you eat gross food, I am not talking, the food can block your meditation. If now the question arises the meat-eater people. They cannot meditate Because meat takes sometimes two, dies, just three days. Are they able to meditate? Or they will have hard time. They can meditate but they will have hard time. They have to go through and they will realize one day it is better to eat the lighter food. They might come to the lighter food and if they become meditators, they automatically they will choose to eat the lighter food Because they will feel comfortable when they feel comfortable and they can go deep into meditative state. Another technique he said cross leg. And God doesn't kill anyone. Let me explain to you God kills, hindu took little wrong way that Shiva is a killer, shiva never killer, but unknowingly, all Hindus. They are doing one thing right. They teach their children a mantra. The mantra is called Om Namah Shivaya, om Namah Shivaya, om Namah Shivaya. When all children since beginning, since their babyhood, they learned this mantra and it creates destructive power into your body.
Speaker 2:Our body has three power Creative power, operative power and destructive power. Now I am going to give you one little technique. What is God? God is creative power. God created this whole universe. God is Operative power. We think that God is operating this whole universe. And God is destructive power. He is changing everywhere. Disasters, lovers, earthquake, everywhere, not only here Moon, Mars, everywhere, destruction. What is God? They made God? G4, generative power, creation, oh for Operative power, g4, destructive power. That is God.
Speaker 2:God is three combination of these three power and God put all these power into our body. They are very much creative, right, Many people. They are more creative than others. Many people are less creative, but they are creative. And many people are more functioning Operative Few people. They are less functioning power, but they have God put every three powers into the body.
Speaker 2:Now I am going to give you little insight of you. And destructive power also. God put inside of you. We are destructive too. So if all three powers are God and God put into our body, the all three power, are we separate from God? Think about it. No wonder in Upanishad they were able to declare Aham Brahma Samayam I am God. It looks like a very egoistic statement, but in the real sense you are not separate from God. If three powers in your body, and God is also combination of three powers, what is the difference between you? What is the difference between the father and the son, or mother and the daughter and father and the daughter, or mother and the son? It's a part of the father and mother. If we are children of God, it means we are the part of the God.
Speaker 2:Destructive power is not a killing power. The person who is lacking destructive power in the body, they are killers, they are murderers, they are violent, they are terrorists. Did you ever hear about in Hindu culture somebody is bombing like becoming terrorist? Why? Because they teach their children Om Namah Shivaya, and Om Namah Shivaya creates lot of destructive power. What destructive power does to you?
Speaker 2:If you increase destructive power into your body, destructive power begins to kill. What it kills. That's what I am going to tell you. That is his main teaching of Shiva. It kills your anger, it kills your jealousy, it kills your bad thoughts, it kills your hate, it kills your violence, it kills your negativities, it kills your suffering, it kills your pain. It kills. But if we are lacking destructive power, then you are angry. You are very hateful.
Speaker 2:Think about KKK. If I meet them one day, I am going to teach them Om Namah Shivaya. Increase destructive power. You have less destructive power. That's why it is a hate they are so much Angry person. If I boycott. I meet Trump one day, I am going to give him Om Namah Shivaya. I calm down. Repeat Om Namah Shivaya. Increase destructive power. Instead of killing people, kill your anger. Kill your own ego. You want to be president forever. Kill your own ego. It is an ego. It will kill it. Destructive power is needed. As creative power is needed, operative functioning power is needed, same thing destructive power is needed. And Hindu, unknowingly, they teach their children Om Namah Shivaya. Om Namah Shivaya increases inside of you destructive power.
Speaker 2:When these everything becomes less and less and less, it is easy to meditate Pali yankam bandhevu nishidhaman vachankaya vyavaro. All this, your mind is under your control, your speech is under your control. Your body is under your control. This is called Manvachan Vipar. Vipar means activities of the mind, activities of the speech, activities of the body all under your control. Then nasaag nimiyat naayano Another technique that you don't close your eyes.
Speaker 2:They teach you wrong thing in meditative state that close your eyes. In this book they say no, nasaag dithee that you close eyes. It looks like a close but it is half open. Then concentrate on your tip of the nose. That is called nasaag nimiyan naayano. When you look at your tip of the nose with the half open eyes, then what you do after that, nishidh mano vaya, mandi krith swashanishvasa, mandi kaya sasanishvasa. When you do this, when you concentrate on your tip of the nose with half open eyes, it is called ardhanemiyelithanayan.
Speaker 2:If you go to our temple, you go to our system. There on the first hill on the left side, they are meditating same way. Their eyes, that stretch your eyes, are half open eyes. They are concentrated fully on the nasaag riddhristi on the tip of the nose and mandi kaya sasanishvasa. And your breath, which is coming in and going out. It is a mandi kaya. It becomes so slow. They are not like your breathing, very kind of kaya tiku vaya. No, your breath calms down fully.
Speaker 2:When your breath calms down and you are looking the tip of the nose and you are sitting in the paliyan kyasankaros lags and all your mind, your body, your space under your control, meditation begins and when meditation begins and meditation is a fire it can burn all your karma. But remember now it requires eight steps. I am going to give you that steps today and then there are 25 things which blocks your meditation. I am going to continue to tell that in the pre-usan time. But eight steps is needed. Sometimes we call it the eight steps of samyakta. Samyakta means the right way of thinking, the right way of the technique. It has eight steps, like in your body. There are eight parts of your body. They are very important your eyes, your nose, your mouth, your ears, your hands, your feet. These eight parts, your stomach, your all eight parts of the body is very important into your body In the same way, those eight parts of samyakta right knowing, right path right guidance they are very important.
Speaker 2:I am going to give you that little idea of those eight. What they are. Let me repeat it is utradhinsutra, last teachings of Mahavir, 24 Tirthankara, last Tirthankara. And it is utradhinsutra, 28 chapter and 31 gath. 28 chapter and 31 gath, it counts their eight, eight steps. Now I am going to explain to you first.
Speaker 2:First is first step is nishankayam. It is in Sanskrit. We call it nishankha. Nishankha is that you don't have a doubt. You don't have a doubt, and doubt is created because of the fear. If no fear, there is no doubt. You will not. You will not have a doubt Because the fear it creates. It is. Fear is the one who creates. But we need to clear both of it doubts and fear. How many fear we have? If I categorize, I will categorize only seven kind of fear. There are hundreds, thousands kinds of fear is creating trouble into our life. But if I categorize, it may be all included into the seven categories. First kind of is a Thanang-sutra, another scripture of the Jain. It is the seventh chapter. It is just seven kind of seven kind of fear there.
Speaker 2:First fear is elok bhaya, that, what is the fear into this world? That, hey, if I lose my business, if I lose my children, if I lose my family this is called elok bhaya that you are not settled at all, because, all over, fear, fear, fear, fear. You cannot even. Hey, if you lose your, if you lose your any, maybe? If your boss fired you, you are so much fearful that any time they can fire me, this company, I will lose my salary, I lose my money, I lose everything. We are surrounded by fear, and this fear is creating lot of trouble. And if the fear and the what we need, actually we can be fearless. We need only water, air to breathe, water to drink and food to eat. But why we are so fearful then? Hey, who is here? They will get all these three For breathing. You don't have to pay Water. They can. They begin to sell, but this is your illusion. I think it is better you purify your own water, because bottled water can be very bad too. So, be careful. Up to you. That is my suggestion. So that's the way that you need to do. No doubts at all, no illusion at all. Fear creates lot of illusion. Because of fear, everything is created. Illusion. Oh, I am going to lose this, I am going to lose this. They don't travel. I am going to. Oh, the airplane will going to get accident. You don't go in because you are fearful. You don't go in.
Speaker 2:I heard one time a man traveled into the airplane when he landed. I heard by myself. When he landed he went to the pilot. He said thank you Two times. Thank you bringing me, and that is my two times. I am telling you you brought me two times. It's that right, brought you only one time. No, but it is two times. This is my first and last, because it's terrible.
Speaker 2:Sometimes it was so much turbulence they get so scared, so afraid, that they are going to die. It is fearful. Because of fear. We don't travel. Many people they don't travel. Hey, I am going to tell you one thing don't be afraid. Your life, your death, where it is going to happen, death, it is already decided. It is going to happen in the airplane or in the car or somewhere else. And let me tell you, don't be scared, don't be afraid. Only less accident happen in the sky. Most accident happen. If I will tell you the truth, you will be surprised, and people are not afraid of that. Where most accident happen, most accident happen on the bed. Where the people die more On the bed, no matter in the hospital, no matter at home. They die on the bed and nobody is scared of the bed and most accident happen on the bed, not in the car, not in the airplane.
Speaker 2:That why should we be scared? Eh lokh bhai hai. That is the first kind of scary thing in this world. We think we are going to do this, we are going to lose our life, we are going to lose money, we are going to do this and that is the whole thing goes on. We are never settled. Second is par lokh bhai hai. Second is par lokh bhai means like you are afraid of other kind of maybe which is not human, maybe on other things, maybe animals, maybe some kind of devils, maybe some kind of other stuff. It is called par lokh bhai hai, which is not human, human around you create lot of fear, but other things which is not look like you, they create lot of fear too. Angels can create lot of fear. If angels, usually they don't become angry. If they become angry, what is going to happen? And no wonder, when somebody dies, they all tell them. They don't say they say where did it go? Your father happened? Everybody say heaven. Nobody say into the hell, right?
Speaker 1:Do they say into the hell?
Speaker 2:No, Because you don't know. Psychologically, you are totally brainwashed. That's what they say. Into the heaven. I am going to tell you today this psychological fear, and we are all holding it. What if we will say, because we are afraid, what about after death? He will become a ghost, he will become a devil, he will become something to protect yourself into the heaven. He went into the heaven. Right, that's what we say, because we are so afraid of par lokh bhai hai that what about it become devil? Right, Become some ghost. They are going to disturb us all the time, right? So that is the par lokh bhai.
Speaker 2:Second kind of fear. Third kind of fear is atran bhai. Atran bhai is like protection. We need protection, but we are not protected. We always think we are not protected, Even we are at home.
Speaker 2:Oh, somebody will take my money away, somebody take my furniture away, somebody will steal this, somebody will do this. If you don't have money, that is problem. If you have money, that is problem. No-transcript. If you don't have money, you cry God, I don't have anything. If you don't, if you have money, if somebody will steal and be careful these days, if somebody calls you unknown number, don't answer. You never know if you answer through your telephone number, they can get into your account. There's a lot of scam going on. Atran Bhai, Everywhere is this fear now. And AI, maybe it will empty your whole bank account one day. It's the biggest fear again. Atran Bhai, it is everywhere. So this is the third kind of fear.
Speaker 2:Fourth kind of is Akashmat Bhai, Sudden fear. Accident happened. When accident happened, that's it. But sometimes accident is blessing too. Person doesn't get killed. But when accident happened, let me tell you what happened.
Speaker 2:All fear, they hit your navel, Everything it comes here and this is the center. If it opens up, your energy begins to go upward right away. And when your energy flows upward, you are going towards enlightenment. But let any accident happen, any earthquake happen. Nothing happened to your hands and feet, it happened here. You get hit the most, in the navel. Navel is the center which creates a lot of trouble for you. But if it becomes active by accident, because it is too much fear, and when you hold too much anything, it is going to open up suddenly psychologically. Close your fist, Tighten it, Tighten it more, Tighten it more. Put your whole strength into the closing of this fist and when your whole strength is given to be your fist. Time will come, it will open up by itself. That's what it happens sometimes. If you get hit, first thing you get hit and somebody screams on you and you are not prepared for it you get your navel.
Speaker 2:Everything becomes here. Everything your navel gets affected in every accident, in every screaming, in every yelling, in every sudden things happen in your life. It's a blessings, but it is a big fear too. Same time. That is the fourth kind of, fifth kind of Vedana Bhaya. Vedana means now, it always blocks you. This because you are suffering, you have a pain, you have this, you have arthritis, you have many kind of sicknesses. It's always moving into it. And then when this Bhaya, this fear is always blocks you.
Speaker 2:Apeyash Bhaya. Next one, sixth one. Apeyash means like bad name, that if I will do something wrong I will be insulted in everywhere. Right, if by chance, by mistake, I do something, then it will happen Everywhere. Your name will be bad name. This is also the biggest fear. And last fear is a Maran Bhaya. Maran Bhaya means death.
Speaker 2:Dying Death is the biggest fear. Little aeroplane, you are traveling, turbulence happens. You are cheat chatting with the friends, you are eating something and suddenly turbulence happens. Terribly, and everybody was enjoying their meal, or cheat chatting. Suddenly, if they believe in God, god, god, god, god, all the prayer, they begin to say right away everyone, and before that the prayer was, they forgot everything. Little turbulence happens by fear.
Speaker 2:Fear of the death is the strongest fear. Nobody wants to die. Even you touch a little bug, it begins to run away from you. They don't want to die, they don't want to get killed. They try their best and sometimes, if you can put all efforts, all efforts of your own, yourself, there is no way Like efforts I put closing my fist. It is going to open up one time Because there is no strength left, All strength, you put it here and you put it, put it, tighten it, tighten it, tighten it, and it is going to open up by itself. It can happen anywhere, it can happen anytime. When you put all the efforts, people don't put all the efforts. If they put all the efforts, it is going to happen to you too. Learn how to put all the efforts. When you put all the efforts in anyone, things are going to happen to you. Death might disappear too. If you put efforts into the deaths dying anywhere, you put all the efforts fully, then things begin to disappear. Maranbhai is the like. Nobody wants to live their body. So these are the eight steps. The first step is I was explaining the first step, but there is a doubt and fear and fear are.
Speaker 2:I did seven categories. Second step is Nikankhyam. Nikankhyam means that if somebody is on the wrong path like into the truck or drinking, become alcoholic, drug addiction or taking you the wrong path Don't stick with those people. One day, if you are not into the drug, you are not into alcohol, but if you live with them you might get affected. It is saying, if you enter into the coal mine, no matter how much you save your clothes, it is going to get dirty because you are into the coal mine. So think about it that they can take you away from your path, if they are. If you are, nikankhyam means nishkanksta, you make little distance from those people.
Speaker 2:Third is nivati gicha, nivicitsa that if person is on high level, divine person, emong, ascent, divine and a teacher, a spiritual teacher, or the path is a very good path for you, non-violent path, right, and people begin to criticize it. They always put them down. So that called nivicic that if you don't put them down, then it means you are a good person. If you are putting them down, good people, right, and they are the real people they are just maybe have nothing to do with. They are always sitting in meditation or they are trying to teach goodness to the people. So if you have that idea, don't criticize others. If you want to criticize, criticize yourself, amud dhiti.
Speaker 2:Fourth one, amud dhiti, is that they trust only the right thing. They don't believe in wrong way. There are believers in the world, but not necessarily they are believing right way. If you go to the church dancing with the snakes, are you a good believer? I can tell you these are with the. In every religion there are bad tradition Dancing with the snake. They think, oh, the devil will go away. Snakes are devil. If I give them snake, they cannot dance with that snake. I will give the cobra. Dance with the cobra. Then I will know that you dancing with the snake. They already know they are not. They are non-poisonous snake. There may be garden snake. You can dance with it. It is not going to take the devil away. No, but that's what they do. People do it. They get trapped into this kind of thing. Amud dhiti they call it. If you are not into it, you are okay good.
Speaker 2:Next one is called upguhan. Upguhan is that the people who are the good people. You appreciate them and if you become good by chance by following them and you see a lot of good qualities in. You don't appreciate yourself. It will create ego. Upguhan Learn how to only appreciate. Only maybe you can tell people about who are good people, not talk about your own. Many people. They just try to appreciate themselves, nothing else. That's the upguhan.
Speaker 2:Sixth one thirikarane. Thirikarane is a is the best one quality and it can. If you have this quality, it can help you lot of in-maritation that people who are falling down. It is easy to make them more fall down and that is the nature of the human that if somebody is already going down, they push them more. They go down more. But actually the good person is if somebody is falling down, they protect them. If you have this quality of protecting other people, you have this good quality.
Speaker 2:That is the seventh one. Eighth one no, no, sixth one, sorry, this is sixth one. And the seventh one is vatsarlata. Vatsarlata means like you are not at, you don't have attachment, but you have some kind of love, like a cow with the baby. This is called vatsaltha. The cow will protect its baby there. If he is sleeping, it will be around it, right, even in the field. A mother will protect the baby. That's called vatsaltha. Vatsaltha means every single pore of the mother is a protection there for the baby Right. If you have this quality, vatsaltha is more than love. It is not a love, it is more than love. That quality, if you encourage that you are going towards, it will help you to meditate.
Speaker 2:And eighth one is pabhavana. Pabhavana is like if you can have some kind of, if you can preach some kind of good quality everywhere and these days you are lucky you have a social media If you can spread all over good things, it is called prabhavana and specially the you spread the things good thing Even you are not talking, you are just spreading it, you are sharing it. The more you share it on the social media, whatever you learned, they will learn too. You are getting if you have this quality. That is eighth quality of to enhance your meditation. These are the eight qualities I am talking about, but there are 25, there are 25 blockages, but they are a little too much I cannot explain today. But if you will clear all those 25 blockages, your meditation will going to happen. Clearly that is called 25 dosha. Dosha means lower qualities and if you get, if you get familiar with it, that is the way you will put lot of efforts and without lot of efforts, you cannot be successful.
Speaker 2:One time a guy he went to the Socrates that is my last saying to you he said I am failure in my whole life. He is a young fellow. I am failure. Teach me how to get success in my life. Said yes, socrates, very tall, robust, strong person. He took the young boy to the river. He said go enter to the river. He entered the river. Keep going, keep going. The water came up to the nose. He was keep going.
Speaker 2:Then Socrates went there. He grabbed his head, put him into the river, the whole head, and he tried, he tried, he tried to out of his grip but he is so, so strong person and till his body became become like a blue, he took him out from the water and he breathed. He got so released. Then Socrates asked him you were asking me what is the best technique of the success? That what you were feeling when I grabbed you into the water and put you whole head into the water, that I was trying to breathe. I couldn't breathe. I put all of my efforts to breathe, I couldn't breathe. That is the success technique of the success. You put all the efforts, like you were putting all the efforts to breathe it.
Speaker 2:But if you put all the efforts like that, I guarantee you, no matter which field, you are going to success. You will be successful. But we don't want to put efforts like we put efforts to breathe. If we can put efforts like Socrates taught this young fellow, I guarantee you that is the only technique I can give you. You will be success in meditation. You can be success wherever you want to get success. Success is right there. But we don't know, we are not familiar with technique. We need a Socrates again here. Put efforts and you will be there. You are already there. Little more, little more. I will continue this. What is blocking you? 25 kind of blockages tomorrow. Jai Siddhartha.
