Paryushan 2023, Day 6: The Types of Renunciation to Help your Soul
Every day is a day of Paryushan. Every day is a celebration of soul.
Acharya Shree reveals our inner enemies, which are the things we need to renounce:
our mind, our five senses, and ego, greediness, anger, deceitfulness and anger. If you win over 1, you win over 5, and you win over 10.
We are constantly bothered by the mind and so the mind needs to be renounced. Desires of the mind and senses never end. They keep you in illusion, fantasy, emotions and desires, which all lead to suffering.
Through renouncing what you hear, what you taste, what you smell, what you see, what you touch, and you're not into these things, your soul becomes freer and free. The problem is that the senses have so much power and the soul is weak. When you really renounce these things, as a monk or householder, you become free. Soul is waiting for you, to help free it. Will you start taking the real steps towards that? What will it take?
In the Paryushan Series of 2023, Acharya Shree focuses on Meditation and sharing tips, techniques and teachings to help you arrive at your self. The path to Godhood is through the human body, are you ready for it?

Jai Sadama, everyone. This is Sadhvi Sadheli Sri, here with my spiritual teacher and guru, acharya Sri Yogish, for the 2023 Paryushan series of Acharya Sri's podcast. Acharya Sri is a respected, enlightened one who has helped thousands of souls progress on their spiritual path and totally transform. Paryushan is an eight-day celebration of the soul, dedicated to reflection, fasting and spiritual learning. Welcome to all of our new listeners and thank you for tuning in Paryushan the spiritual celebration is a sixth day today.
Speaker 2:It's very important. Every day is important. Actually, if you ask me, every day has to be Paryushan. Think about the celebration which is real celebration, about your soul, the self, because we try to know everything except the soul and that's why we are fail. Our situation is like that A frog you catch the frog and you place that frog on the golden chair. You know what it will do it will jump down and he will go to the mud again. Our situation, our thinking, is like that always. Yes, every day has to be Paryushan. Celebration means soul celebration. We try to know everything else, we don't try to know our souls, and that is the dilemma. We live in this illusion.
Speaker 2:In Uttaradhyam Sutra, last teachings of Mahabharata, it is I was reading there one Gatha Egam jiye jiya pancha, pancha jiye jiya dasa dasaha ujinit tanang savsattun jina maham, that if you win over one, you win over five. If you win over five, you win over ten, and when you win over ten, you win over all enemies. So you need to win over one first. What is that one? Your mind, your mind is wondering either and either here and there it doesn't sit silently A baby when it is little bit taking steps, little bit walking, begin to walk. Couple of months later runs and runs and runs. All day, running, new learning. The mother has to just grab to feed the baby, but it runs, runs around, runs around. Mind is like that. Mind is running around, never, never stops. Everything else stops except mind. Mind is, if you want to go really in meditative state, you have to work on your mind. We try to work everything else except mind. And the last teaching of Mahavira, what he said egam jiya jiya panj, that if you win over one thing, one, your mind, jiya panj, you can win over five. What is one is mind, and four more. You can win over your anger, you can win over your ego, you can win over your deceitfulness, you can win over your greediness. These four can be win automatically, you will win. Now it is a five, you win only one and you have won five. Panj, jiya jiya das. If you win over five, you can win over ten. What is five more?
Speaker 2:Your senses. First senses is touch, taste, smells, sight and hearing. These are the five senses and these are the main trouble. We are wondering, we are moving into the senses, the senses. You will be surprised that senses are outsider. They always take you outside. They don't want to take you inside, they are outer, they are not insider. Can you believe if your nose began to smell inside, can you stand yourself? It is outside, it brings all the smell from outside. So are your eyes. Can you believe?
Speaker 2:The person who is not born with the eyes cannot indulge in too much bad activities at all. If you read the survey, in the whole world mostly people they commit suicide who have eyes the blind person can you read anytime that the blind person committed suicide Doesn't have eyes. Eyes is the main problem. It brings lot of negativity and bad activities in your mind. We blame others, blame your eyes first. No wonder All meditators, including Mahavira, buddha, rama Krishna, whomever you name it, socrates, aristotle, lao Tzu in China, they all said close your eyes. And if you close your eyes you will be surprised. Once you closed your eyes, you are disconnected from the world. So you are in your own world.
Speaker 2:Bodhidharma, well-known, a Buddhist monk, entered to China. His personality is robust, his height tall, his eyes glowing eyes, his face glowing. He is a Chinese king, the main king. He heard about him. He wanted to visit him. That my mind is very wavering. My mind is here and there always. Maybe he will settle my mind. He visited him. All the other people were visiting too. He didn't treat King as a king For the monk. Everyone has to be same.
Speaker 2:He asked question. My mind is very wavering, my mind is very disturbing. I cannot really sleep, even. It's difficult Always going on, continue. What do I do? Okay, I can teach you. You come tomorrow, 4 am, early in the morning. Okay, sir, I welcome. If somebody is willing to do, they will not think about 4 am. They will be ready anytime. If somebody really wants to help themselves, they will not take care of. Somebody is teaching at night, or somebody is teaching during the day, or somebody is teaching in the forest, or somebody is teaching in the university. Now, they are learners, they really want to learn it and if you want to learn, you can learn from anywhere.
Speaker 2:Bodhidharma. When he was leaving the king, he said don't forget to bring your mind with you. He said, okay, all right, he went. He had a dinner. He talked to his queen or wives looking. They used to have a like several kind of a marriage. He said don't disturb me, I am going to learn something special tomorrow morning. I want to be left alone. Okay.
Speaker 2:As soon as he went to the bed, he began to think I think he, this Bodhidharma, is just famous. He doesn't know anything, abc about it. Why did he say bring your mind with you, don't forget. Hey, my mind is always with me. Maybe he's crazy and insane. I'm not going to go. He decided I am not going to go. He was ready in a moment. Next moment he's not ready. And that's what is happening. Something you hear. Suddenly you get inspired I want to do it, I want to do it Right. And next moment you don't want to do it. When trouble, we want to do it. When we are not in trouble, we don't want to do it. A man climbed to the palm tree. There was a lot of roots, dates. They were ripe in kind of. He wanted to get it.
Speaker 2:And to climbing on the palm tree, it is easy, but coming down is very difficult because their leaves on the palm tree they are standing up and they're kind of thorn. It's very difficult to come down, climbing up. He says he climbed up and he got the fruit. He enjoyed it when he started coming down. He loved that Because palm tree is very tall. He said, wow, if little mistake I am going to fall down. Whatever.
Speaker 2:He believed in trouble now that God, if you save me today and let me go down, I will go to your temple and I will just do almost hundred dollars worth sweet dessert. I will offer you, please, let me go down. Trouble, trouble makes you think that you are in trouble now. Then he hardly went a couple of steps down. He saw again it is too far to go down. He believed I think the Ganesha is a obstacle removed. He said, ganesha, if you let me down a little bit today, help me, today I am going to go to your temple and give you hundred dollars sweet dessert. He got little confidence. He went a couple of more steps down but it was still so far. Whomever, he believed he kept tying all the money with them. Now there is two yard left and when two yard left, he jumped and he fell down deliberately. He said everybody, they didn't help me. Look, I fell down Next moment everything is forgotten.
Speaker 2:That's what people's mind is. He kept changing his side left to right. He couldn't fall asleep. Midnight, 2 am, 3 am. I am not going to go. I am not going to go. He couldn't fall asleep. 4 am he suddenly jumped out. But he is robust, he is tall, his face is glowing, maybe he knows. He jumped out from the bed and he left. He went there.
Speaker 2:Bodhidharma was sitting with the big staff. He got little scared but he went and Bodhidharma asked simply did you bring your mind with you? Say are you insane? My mind is always with me, that's okay. Then show me. Then I said I cannot show you, but it is inside. All right, sit down here. He sat down that, if it is inside, find out where it is Right. He closed his eyes. When he closed his eyes, he is asking Bodhidharma, did you find it? No, I am trying, but I cannot find it. But you said you brought with you Right, yeah, but now I cannot find it. You know why you cannot find it. I settle it down.
Speaker 2:Whenever you get disturbed, whenever you are in trouble, whenever you are bothered by your mind, you just close your eyes and look at it inside and you cannot find it. You will not be in trouble. The mind is the main thing. If you can win over the mind, you can settle it. Win over means you come it down, you settle it fully and your meditation will begin. But it won't begin unless you win over it. Your anger on the way, your ego on the way, your deceitfulness, illusion on the way, your greediness on the way, these four we call it Kishaya, these four Kishayas. If they are gone from your life, I guarantee you you are the best person on the earth. These are the ones who are bothering you. But your five senses is the main trouble and they are outer, they are outsider. Eyes bring everything from outside. Can you believe? If you don't have eyes, you will be less and less and less distracted. You will not collect so many junk because of eyes. You collect it. You never know and I guarantee you, whatever you collect, after a while it loses its value.
Speaker 2:A king began to think I am going to win over other king. He has a big castle, big palace, he is a strong king. He win over when he began to live in that palace. After a while it becomes smaller, because desires never end. Desires say I wish I have a bigger than this, then he will start searching. It never ends your greediness, all these roots inside of your senses, is greediness. If this root is removed from the human life, that human is a precious human. That person is the most precious person on the earth Eyes. They collected all these junk. They keep collecting it and its loses its value after a while. You live in the palaces. It becomes smaller after a while. It has no value after a while. It is saying in India that the things which are far away, they look beautiful. Once you are into it it loses its value.
Speaker 2:I guarantee you, you begin to live anywhere, it loses its value. It becomes smaller. After a while it is not the same, because from the far it seems better From the far. Once you are into it, it loses its value. That's what I tell people. Go into it fully, 100%. Can you believe? If you have eaten your food carefully, with awareness, it will lose its value.
Speaker 2:One little boy, he was eating all the time, all the time dessert, sweet chocolate, and he began to lose its teeth. If you eat too much sugar, you know bacteria grows after 30 minutes. As soon as you eat sugar, your bacteria will be born into your. Because sugar it creates that kind of situation. Bacteria began to grow into your teeth. That's why, if you eat sugar, if you eat dessert, I suggest you eat before your food Because salt doesn't let bacteria grow. But in Go To India and I was reading I think they are big in illusion. I was reading in Sanskrit book. They say when you eat your food, lunch or dinner, madhura and Samapya that eat dessert in the end.
Speaker 2:I wonder sometimes why Gandhi lost all of his teeth. Did you see Gandhi's picture? No teeth, poor guy. Why he was born in Gujarat and Gujarati people what they do. Mostly in the end they eat dessert. Good Good is raw sugar and he couldn't stop it. He lost all of his teeth Because once you eat sugar you get addicted to it and addiction it attacks on your teeth unless you clean it right away.
Speaker 2:It's a different story, right, if you brush right away. That's what we are into. Sense is too much Outsiders. All these material, all these particles, sweet or salt or spicy, they are outsider and it brings in your life. All this collection. No, we go crazy for the. No matter what, any fragrance, any like people, they have some kind of scent. What do you call that? Perfume, perfume, perfume. They call scent in in Arabic language. No matter how much lies on your life scent. But life is not permanent. It is never permanent. No matter how much scent you use, it is going to slip from your hand, your whole body touch. We are into it always. I was reading in one story about into the Uttaradha Sutra last teaching. So Maavir One is the most famous king.
Speaker 2:His name was Bhimsaar. Also, his other name was Shreya Nik. Shreya Nik's name is most popular in Jains and Buddhist texts, not in Hindu texts, because Jain and Buddhist they are similar almost, both Buddha and Maavira. They were born into the royal family and mostly Buddhists. They are not familiar with it, but Indian history knows it. They were a little real, far relative, not cousins, but little further relative. And you know kings, those days they used to fight each other. Right Always used to fight. And they both renounced. Maavira renounced the kingdom, buddha renounced the kingdom. They become a Vegemonde. They entered to the forest. They wanted to find the real thing which is hidden inside of Right, they both. And that's why in Buddhist texts and read the Jain texts they have the similar stories about Bhimsaar Shreya Nik. They call it Shreya Nik.
Speaker 2:One day Shreya Nik was outside of his capital, he was into his garden and there was. Maavira was staying there those days and other monks maybe, buddhists, jains, all there. They used to renounce. They are the only monks. They renounced most of everything. That was their idea To renounce everything. So we will renounce. You don't have any stress, tension, anything to take care of except yourself. Right.
Speaker 2:One young fellow. He became a monk. When he was wandering into the big garden miles and miles long, under one tree, he saw a young fellow who became recently a monk. He was meditating under the tree. His name was Anathi. He got popular as Anathi Muni. Anathi means there is no one to help him, helpless, no one there to protect him, no one there to care about him. Nobody can do anything about him. He got popular by this name Anathi Muni. Muni means a monk. Anathi Muni he became.
Speaker 2:He went there. When he opened his eyes, he asked, he paid respect to him and he asked that you are young, you are handsome. It seems like you are very strong. In this young age. Usually people, they enjoy the world. Get married, enjoy, earn money, enjoy.
Speaker 2:Why did he become a monk? He asked him questions. He simply answered that I don't have anyone my guardian, my protector to help me. I am really Anath. Anath means orphan, kind of Anath means orphan, if you translate very close word, but not fully. It doesn't bring the whole meaning of it, but it's closest orphan. I am orphan, orphan, but you look so handsome. I can be your guardian, I can be your protector. I am a king, I can take care of you. Let's go with me. He said can I tell you the little truth? Monks, they don't open their mouth, but when they open they tell the truth, yes, that you are orphan by yourself. You will take care of me. You are even orphan yourself, that I am orphan. I am a king of this, all this biggest kingdom. They don't be mistaken, I am coming from the Koshami. Koshami was a very prosperous and city-like business center those days, very rich city. I was born there. I was born in a very rich family.
Speaker 2:He said, suddenly, one day my eyes, something happened, it began to burn and it was burning so badly. I cannot tolerate that. And it happened suddenly. I was perfectly okay and my father, mother, full of money. They were just spending money like water on me. And all the doctors, all the vethas, whatever they know it, they try one day, two days, few days, but that pain doesn't go away, it increases even more. I was so restless I tried. My parents are my guards here. They will take care of me, but they think nobody could help me. They tried. It's not. They didn't try. Whatever they can do, they can spend the money on me, but they couldn't take my pain away. It's becoming so dense at night I cannot sleep few nights with the pain.
Speaker 2:And suddenly something entered into my mind. I thought, and that thought changed whole of my life. I thought in the midnight with the pain that if this, my pain will go away Somehow. I wanted to be on the real path. I was familiar with monks. Then I will leave it. And as soon as this thought entered into my mind, it entered very deeply and it changed my whole structure. My pain disappeared and early in the morning I was very healthy and I went to my parents and they were very happy that I want your permission to become a monk, that what you were suffering, that, yes, this thought entered into my mind last night and say if this pain, an intolerable pain, disappears, I want to be on the path. I will renounce everything.
Speaker 2:They gave him a lot of advice. It's a very difficult path. Nobody will be there to take care. You have to go back the food. Even you are in the richest family. He said this is what I thought, and pain disappeared.
Speaker 2:That, king, when I was in pain, nobody can help me. That's what I am a orphan. I'm not a orphan. What do you think? I am a orphan because nobody could have helped me. And if something happened to you, who will going to help you? You are already orphan. Can you do it? If I am in the pain, can you take away my pain? That first be your own. Be your own Swami. Nobody is there, swami. If you want to be Swami owner or your own protector, be your own helper, be a Swami. You are not even Swami. You think you are Right? So that is there.
Speaker 2:Sometimes it can happen in any situation. It can happen with anyone. It happened with the Buddha too, and Buddha suddenly left. Why did it happen? Because his king, his father, had only one child and somebody predicted I don't know, I don't know why they predicted the father, other people's life, predicted someone that as soon as he will going to be young, he is going to leave, right, he is going to leave the kingdom.
Speaker 2:He came, thought Shuddhodana, his name. Shuddhodana began to think that if I give him lot of everything luxuries, he might get involved in it. He arranged for him four kinds of garden One for the spring, one for the autumn, one for the winter, one for the summer, one for the rain. And he sent all these bought young girls around him all the time. And he ordered the gardener if a leaf becomes even yellow before he wakes up, everything has to be removed, everything has to be green, garden fully. He gave him so much luxury. Hundreds of young girls around him, always. You know when you put anyone into the luxurious things, those luxuries will go away one day.
Speaker 2:One day he got fed up. He became allergic of it. A little boy, he used to eat lot of chocolate. One day he took his son to the market and he said chocolate, whatever the boxes were there in the market or in that mall, he got all the boxes. He said eat, it is yours. When he began to eat, you know what is going to happen. After few days he became so allergic of it he didn't want to see even the box of the chocolate. Why? Because allergic Buddha became allergic. He became so much allergic, too much. Luxuries around. Luxuries lose the value.
Speaker 2:He asked his charioteer. Let's go to walk around. Prepare your chariot. He sent the message that he wants to go out. What do I do Then? Wait couple hours, I can clear everything His father ordered. Nobody goes, Nobody walk there, any old person. Everyone has to be young, everywhere has to be flowers, everywhere has to be everything clean. He ordered Channa.
Speaker 2:His name was Channa. Channa is driving the chariot. And Gautama, his name was not Buddha, his name was Siddhartha. Siddhartha was sitting 16 years old, and when he was going outside of the he wanted to see. They have to cross the little village. And it was. Everything was decorated, except by mistake. One old man was walking and he stopped. He never saw an old man in his life. Can you believe what happened? He asked the Channa that who is this fellow? My Majesty is an old man. That, what is old man? Because he never saw the old man. And it is going to happen if you don't see anything. What is going to happen? That's what I said Go through all ups and downs in your life If you. His father did the big mistake. He wanted to keep his son into the kingdom, but he did big mistake. He put him into the most luxurious stuff and he got allergic of it. He saw the old man. He said, channa, tell me, the truth Is, everybody gets old. Oh yes, my master, everybody gets old. You will get old one day.
Speaker 1:Oh, yes, I will get old.
Speaker 2:What about me? All right, I am going to tell you the truth. You will going to get old too. Then take the chariot back. That was enough to wake him up. He went back. He began to think about it I am going to get old. I am going to get old. I have to walk with the stick.
Speaker 2:He couldn't sleep. He's not into the girls anymore. He's not into the luxuries anymore. He's all thoughts, one-pointedness. That is called meditation. It happened. Naturally he's thinking about one day, two days, three days.
Speaker 2:He sent the message he's not into himself. Seems like when somebody is awakened, people think he's not into himself. Right? His father got a little worried. He said don't take him anywhere. It's better let him be there. But after a week again he said I want to go out. Prepare, get ready. He sent the message again to the king that your son was to go out. Wait, he ordered not anything. Distraction has to be on the way Wherever he goes.
Speaker 2:But there was one person died. They were taking the dead body. That's in India, what they do. That is not. They don't take the dead body in the car. People take it on their shoulders and they keep changing everyone and they think this is the best thing that we can take to this person into the where the funeral place is that we did help him a little bit. Everyone, that is their culture. And they were going dead, body on the top and they were reciting some kind of mantras and suddenly stop the chariot. Why they are singing these mantras? Why they telling is Ram Naam Satya, the name of the God, is true? Hey, if the name of the Ram is true, why it is only on that? One person is died right Before? No, but they do it. He asked what is happening here?
Speaker 2:Chandrasekhar, by majesty, you saw that old man that one week ago he died. What do you mean? He died. What is die? Means he was not familiar with it. King didn't allow him to do, get the knowledge at all. That's what it happens. Suddenly. Die means now he's gone, his body is dead, he cannot see, he cannot hear, he cannot do anything. Now, oh, shana it. Everybody dies. Yes, my master, everybody dies. You will die too one day. Yes, I will die. What about me, my majesty? I cannot say now, you will die too. Take the chariot back. That was enough for him to renounce.
Speaker 2:And those people, when they have this idea, when they get fully allergic everything. They cannot go that direction anymore, because it happened 100% with Mahavira and Buddha and they will not get distracted at all. Why? Because they become so allergic, everything and allergic. We call it Viragya, virakti. That's what they call it, virakti. Virakti means person become allergic. Allergic means now they will not go in that direction at all. If somebody is fed up with eating chocolate, they don't want to see even chocolate, right? I don't know how Gandhi was still eating. He lost his all teeth. I'm telling you, be careful what you eat, or clean your teeth brush your teeth if you eat too much sweet.
Speaker 2:Otherwise you will be a Gandhi again. You never know what happens suddenly and when it is your time to wake up. But mind is the main issue. After that four Kishayas, after that five senses. If you win over all these ten, dasa hau jinnit tanang, if you win over ten Now, mahavira, he is last teaching. He gives guarantee, sav sattun jina maham, that you will win over all the enemies of yours. Only you have to take care of ten. If you can win over ten, he gives you guarantee that you can win over any other enemies. They are not strong enough. These are the strong enough Only your senses, your Kishayas angry, good, seedful and greediness and your mind. These are the ten enemies. Really, if somebody, all of them, they are under their control. Right, it means that person can control all the other enemies.
Speaker 2:And Mahavira said next time jo sahasab sahasanam sanga mein dujiye jye. That the person who have won over 100,000 soldiers in the battlefield Suppose he won the battle after cutting the head of 100,000 soldiers in the battlefield Jo sahasam sahasanam sanga mein dujiye jye. Egam jina japanam esa se par mojav. That I don't tell them he is the winner. Who is the real winner? He said who won? Over 100,000 of soldiers, big army. Mahavira said that I cannot tell him a winner. But he said egam jina japanam, the person who has won over the self. Esa se par mojav. That is the biggest victory of the person. That's what Buddha left. Siddhartha left in the forest to find out what is secret behind who dies, who gets sold. And he left Everybody can live Once it clicks. But if it doesn't click, they keep wandering in here, there, here, there. They are never going to win over. If you want to enter meditation, you have to go through little bit. Think. I am going to tell you how meditation can happen.
Speaker 2:One Sufi saint, his name was Khyat. Khyat was walking with his little disciple, young fellow. Wherever he goes, he will follow him. Everywhere they have to go. They have to cross the forest, then they have to go to the other city. But it was evening, sun was setting down and the Khyat said oh, it is time for prayer. But he said, for rest, we have to cross wild animal. We can do later prayer. No, it is time for prayer. He sat down, cleaned little bit under the tree, he went into the deep prayer. The deep prayer is just a word, it means meditation. And suddenly he heard this fellow young fellow roaring of his lawyer. He got so afraid he collected his belonging, whatever. He climbed up the tree and people are not familiar.
Speaker 2:A lion can climb up to the tree too. There is no way to escape from the lion. If you run, he is going to get you. If you climb up, he is going to get you. Only way you can win over the lion if you stand and show you bigger, bigger, bigger. And you are not running. So the lion began to think he is more powerful than me, he is not afraid of me. So he might back up. It is possible. But if there is no way, there is no place to. You can protect yourself from the lion, don't run. He is going to get you before even you die. And if you climb up, he is going to climb up. That is their instinct. He was so afraid. Tree was very like shady lot of leaves. He was hiding himself. The lion came and lion came around this. He said okay, my master is gone today. He is going to eat him. The lion snipped around like a dog and after sniffing he went back. His prayer was over. He came down when lion left and nothing happened. They started walking Suddenly when they were walking.
Speaker 2:The wild dogs. They are two kind of dogs wild dog. They are very strong. Actually, wild dog can also kill the lion if they are in the group. They are so wild, kind of the one wild dog in front of it he has a big staff. He showed the big staff to the wild dog and wild dog ran away. He got so scared of the big staff. The young fellow said master, I am confused that you are confused, that, yeah, I am confused. The lion came, you didn't do anything. I was scared. I went to Appasaya, you don't know, you didn't do anything. And this little dog came. I could have taken care of him. You show him the big staff. He said hey, there is no need of confusion. When the lion came, I was with the God, in the real prayer, in meditative state, but when this wild dog came, I am with you. That's what it is. We are chasing little dogs because destruction we are that. I am with you.
Speaker 1:I am with you.
Speaker 2:I have to show that. Now staff to him. Think about it. Acharya Bhadrabahu is a very well known name. In Jain scripture, bhadrabahu was the last one who became enlightened Keval Gyan. According to the Jain scripture, he went into the Mahapranadhyana. That is called Mahapranadhyana. Mahapranadhyana is a very old technique to enter into that meditative state and he did that sadhana. He did that practice almost 12 years and in 12 years he was left alone, totally in the forest, no shelter, nothing, no distraction, nothing, no people around him, only his disciple. Even they were from far away, they were taking care of. Nobody can go in that direction. He did Mahapranadhyana.
Speaker 2:Mahapranadhyana is a very old technique. You enter into your prana. What is your prana? Because of the prana we are alive. It is called pranic force, energy I call. The pranas are very powerful. Without prana you cannot. If you enter into your prana, every single thing your prana is, every single pore is alive, every single cell is alive. Can you believe if you can enter every single cell? There are millions of cells. And if you have ability to enter every single cell, you enter into the Mahapranadhyana and Mahapranadhyana. And he was known to be God's enlightened Badrabahu. But there is one more name I was reading. His name was Acharya Pushyamitra. I think this name is in both Buddhist and Jain scriptures.
Speaker 2:Acharya Pushyamitra tried to enter into the Mahapranadhyana. Mahapranadhyana means the greatest way, the best way to enter into your own soul. And he has many disciples and he trusted four of his disciples and among four, one he trusted the most, that I am doing these spiritual practices. I will enter into the Mahapranadhyana and no disturbance, don't disturb me till I come back and don't let anybody enter here in this area. He trusted him the most. I said don't worry, I will let anyone come close to you. He entered into the Mahapranadhyana. He said if any emergency happened by chance, he gave the technique what to do and I am going to tell you how to enter into the Mahapranadhyana Acharya Pushyamitra. It happened six months, eight months and all of his hundreds of disciples, hundreds of his monks and thousands of other householders. After six months they want to visit him, but they cannot find him. And when they come close to him all these four monks they stop them and they begin to think that maybe they killed him. That's why they don't let us visit him. It is a real incident happened.
Speaker 2:The rumours spread all over the kingdom King was his devotee too. And they complained the king. They killed the Acharya. They don't let us go there. The king went by himself that I will take care of this matter. He went the four monks they tried to stop him. He said I am a king, I am going to arrest all of you. You killed your teacher. He said no, sir, I don't believe anything. I want to see him. He said wait, let me ask his permission.
Speaker 2:The last monk, who was very trustworthy. He went to him. He said if you will not let me visit him within few minutes, I am going to kill all of you. My arm is ready. You are a killer Emergency. He went to him. It was not his time yet, but he gave the technique that if any emergency happened you cannot control it, you press my big toe underneath, then I will come back. He pressed very hard and he came back and he asked why it was not. My sadhana was not completed yet. That I cannot tell. The king is here. They think that we killed you. It is emergency.
Speaker 2:Now, why the big toe? You are not familiar with? If you are a yogi, if you are a yogi, you will be surprised. Eda, pingala, they are already there. Eda means moon channel. Pingala means sun channel. That's the way we teach people Pranayama. Pranayama is breathe with this or breathe with this, with two channels. They are already connected there when you do it. Breathe through the Eda and Pingala moon channel, sun channel. They are already there. You are all everything you want to control your anger, control your greediness, control your illusion, control your confusion. Right there. Third eye is right there.
Speaker 2:Darshan kendra, we call it Darshan kendra. This Darshan means you will begin to see things. Jyoti kendra, light will suddenly will happen inside of you. That is right there. That's why I tell people don't consider your feet. They are not worth. They are worth. Take care of it. Can you believe? If somebody lose that big toe, they are losing lot of ability. That's what in our scripture he said if somebody lost a foot or a finger, don't make him a monk. It doesn't mean that we are racist, because that person is not able to reach the highest peak and when it is not able to reach it, it will create trouble into your Sangha. That's why they say it not to make it, because they lost the real center of the body. The real center is there. No wonder, in Indian tradition, when they visit a monk. Any, they touch their feet. Why? Because they know it. There is a biggest energy If we can get little bit.
Speaker 2:They are so selfish Right, they begin to do this kind of thing and that tradition is built there and it is real. If it is, somebody is awakened. If you will go close to it, you get affected. There is a Darshan Kendra, jyoti Kendra, yudha Pingala, your Medulla, your Ptutri Ptutri Gland, your Peneal Gland, everything is there. If your big toe is very healthy, you are very healthy person. That's why if somebody is not falling asleep, start pressing the big toe. That person will fall asleep because everything gets relaxed. Mind is right there, it will get totally relaxed, but people don't know it. The person who is in Mahapranadhyana that is the way to bring it back. It is not time yet to press that. And he came back to King Vaiso ashamed of him that I trusted. People Don't trust what is going on. People are blabbermouths but they say don't trust it. They. It is the human nature. They spread the bad words Right. Instead of trusting themselves, they trust others. No wonder they are in trouble. No wonder they don't reach the highest peak. You want to enter into the Dhyana. There are many, many ways.
Speaker 2:I was reading one time Barnadshah. You know about Barnadshah, barnadshah, he wrote lot of. He was on the scripture. He wrote lot of things. He was a poet writer, barnadshah.
Speaker 2:He became very sick one day. He has a lot of pain in the heart. He called the doctor. The doctor came His personal doctor that I have a pain. He said I know, that's what I am here. Then the doctor suddenly fell, collapsed. I am so thirsty. Barnadshah was himself in the room. He said wow, he is in trouble. He stood up from the bed and he brought water for him and he drank. The doctor and Barnadshah was serving him. A doctor, and after drinking water he felt so good, doctor. He said are you all right? Are you all right? Do you have any pain? Doctor said to Barnadshah no, no, no, no pain. Then give my fee. Where is my fee that you supposed to give me fee? You are asking me that I held you. I said no, I held you. I brought water for you. He said I was pretending there was the only way to heal you, that if you get up from your bed your pain will be gone. Sometimes we just think it is a pain.
Speaker 2:It is not a pain If we get out from. That's what I suggest a lot of people. When you feel a feverish body, I will tell person not to lie down. Fight with it, maybe one day, not to lie down, no matter how much you feel. Fight with it. Maybe one day, if you will fight, it's almost gone. Extreme fever will be gone, extreme temperature will be gone. Maybe you can rest after that little bit. So you rest couple of days, that's it, it's gone. But as soon as we think, oh, I have a temperature, we lie down. It is going to get you more. Learn from Bernard Shaw's doctor.
Speaker 2:When we become a monk anybody in India, especially Sannyasis, sadhus, buddhist monks they shave their head right. That is called Munda. Munda means shaving the head. And when they become Munda they become really Munda, means they shave their head. It's called Munda. I was reading one scripture of Jain. It is called Dhanang Sutra. Dhanang Sutra they describe their ten kind of Munda, ten kind of shaving, and we do only one kind of shaving. When they become renounced the world, they cut their hair, shave the head. It is commonly known in India, but only Buddhist monks, jain monks or other monks, they all do it. But in the Dhanang Sutra there are nine kind of more Munda shaving and we are not familiar with it and if we don't have those kind of, we never going to enter into your meditative state.
Speaker 2:That kind of shaving is called Shrot Indriya, your ear, whatever you hear it. Good, bad, right Are mixed. There are three kind of words we hear through our and it because of hearing, because of this, we get distracted in the world. Beautiful music going on, we get distracted, we forget the meditation. Right, we get too much into it. We totally forgot everything else. This is called its own nature. What is the nature of this ear? To get indulged into the music what you like, or good words what you like. Or many people, they like bad words and they create music about through the bad words. If you hear rap music, mostly they are bad words, but many people like it. They are indulged into it.
Speaker 2:When you are not indulged into these indulgment of the nature of the ear, it means that is the shaving of the ear, not to cut your ear, no, cut those indulgment. That is called first shaving. First shaving is sparshindriya. Sparshindriya is a touch when you go away from that, what it is soft thing, delicate thing, very beautiful thing which feels very good flowers. Nobody like hard thing, harsh thing. If you have to lie down on the concrete you will not like. You need some kind of, you need some kind of mattress and this and that that's what you like it. That is all indulgment of the sparshindriya. That is second shaving A monk.
Speaker 2:Shave that to first. If they don't shave it, only shaving the ear or head, it doesn't make any sense. And if it makes sense, I was reading one thing Kabirah Kabirah wrote that moond-mundai hari mile, if by shaving the head, if you reach to the God, who are you meet the God. So then he said, har koi moond-mundai, that then everybody can shave the head, then then God, you will meet the God. Then, moond-mundai hari mile, har koi moond-mundai baar baar ke moond te bhedna baek unti jaya. That I don't understand one thing that we shaved again and again the sheep, right, but that sheep doesn't go to the heavens, no-transcript. So he attacked that just shaving head, you going to go to heaven? No, that's not right. Nine more shaves, then you can go into the meditative state.
Speaker 2:First touch, then taste, cut your, whatever you are indulging to, this material things, dessert and this and that. Hey, eat simple food, simple food, nutritious food, healthy food, then it will help you. But if you indulge into the fry food, tasty food, greasy food or any kind of which, you are indulging to that, and if you are not into it, that is third kind of shaving Granindria. You smell Many people are indulging, they cannot stay without it. That is a granindria. Then your touch, taste, smell, hearing and looking. When you look, you are indulging. So many distractions, so many distractions.
Speaker 2:And husband was asking to the wife that whom you love the most? Oh, of course I love my children. She said that. No, you love me the most. He said that give me the reason that you can leave the children to the neighbor, lady, neighborhood, but you never leave me there. Right, they can get it, they can have their own idea, but an indulgement is indulgement.
Speaker 2:By looking we get distraction so much. A man is walking, there is a lady walking, a distracted A lady is walking and suddenly he saw the handsome man. Distracted Eyes are the most distracted and I talk about it. If you really want to save it, don't get indulged into those eyes thing. They will take you away from your path. Not only that, then you have to save your anger. Don't be in the anger, don't be in the ego, don't be into the deceitfulness, don't be into the greediness. These are the real saving. Nine but tenth, everybody is doing it. Tenth saving just save the hand. It is not much important than nine more. If you do this, ten, that is really a saving, and then you can enter into the meditative state. And there are twenty-five blocks. I thought I will talk to you today, but it seems like I have to go tomorrow. There are more things on the way and I know that. She told me one and a half hour. It is getting there, so, but in the end I am going to tell you just one minute.
Speaker 2:A father gave a son a little stone and he said go sell him. But to sell it you cannot speak a word, you just say those two fingers only. Okay, but you inform me what happened. Then he said, okay, all right. He went. He showed the stone to the person who is interested more and he said what is the price? Okay, two hundred. He understood two hundred. He went to his father Dad, dad, he is giving two hundred, don't sell it, go further. He went further. One really liked that stone. It is shining, it is beautiful. He said what is the price Okay, two thousand, no problem. Wait, he went to his father. He is giving two thousand. No, you have to go further. He went there. He went really like it, really like it. And he asked him I really want to buy this stone. What is the price? Okay, two hundred thousand. Wait, he went to his father that he is giving two hundred thousand. Go further. There was a jeweler. He saw it. When he saw it, he said what is the price? What do you want? He said I don't have two million, but I can tell you, whatever you will say, I will give the price of this stone.
Speaker 2:I was searching whole of my life and this is the first time I found it. It is priceless. I will give my whole shop to you, all diamonds, everything. It still doesn't cover it. That's the diamond you carrying human body. Human body is priceless. If you will use it, you will enter into Mahapranadhyana and what is blocking to you? I am going to talk about it tomorrow and remember your body, your human life, is priceless. Don't waste it. Somebody, sitting in the sky or not sitting in the sky, knows the value of it, but you don't know it. Learn the value of your body the way you are born, you are perfectly alright. The same way, don't trust somebody saying you are ugly, don't trust it. Nobody is born here ugly. Everybody is born priceless. It is just we have to consider, or we have to recognize, the value of this diamond, jai Siddhātmā.
