Paryushan 2023, Day 8: The Jewels of Paryushan and Higher Meditation
On the final day of Paryushan, Acharya Shree reminds us to practice forgiveness. So as long as we hold on to regret, guilt, resentment, anger, ego, etc. then it will continue to block us for the rest of life. Clear your karma. Wake up so you don't keep collecting karma. Practice awareness. Block all of your open sources. Ask forgiveness from all living beings. Forgive yourself. When you forgive yourself and others, when you are friends with all living beings, you will be free one day.
The highest state of meditation is realizing, "I am alone. I don't belong to others. And others are not mine." The person who thinks that way will be pure, awakened and live in a total state of aliveness.
Acharya Shree describes the different levels and mindsets of meditation and how to achieve the soul-state of meditation, Samadhi.
In the Paryushan Series of 2023, Acharya Shree focuses on Meditation and sharing tips, techniques and teachings to help you arrive at your self. The path to Godhood is through the human body, are you ready for it?

Jai Sadama, everyone. This is Sadhvi Sadheli Sri, here with my spiritual teacher and guru, acharya Sri Yogish, for the 2023 Paryushan series of Acharya Sri's podcast. Acharya Sri is a respected, enlightened one who has helped thousands of souls progress on their spiritual path and totally transform. Paryushan is an eight-day celebration of the soul, dedicated to reflection, fasting and spiritual learning. Welcome to all of our new listeners and thank you for tuning in Paryushan.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Purve celebration. Today is the eighth day. It is a special day. It is also called Samvatsari day. Samvatsari is a Sanskrit word. Samvatsars means a year. After a year it comes. It is called Samvatsari, samvatsari. Samvatsari means the celebration, which is pure spiritual celebration, comes after one year. So it is Samvatsari. It is popular name of Samvatsari Also. This is called also Kshama Yajna Divya Forgiveness, day of forgiveness. That is also another name of it. Day of forgiveness, day of forgiveness is another name of it. Day of forgiveness is not just asking forgiveness to human, to all living beings. That is also one another name of it. But also this is a special day why this is the only day they have chosen to celebrate this all eight days, asthanmaka, eight days of spiritual celebration. Why they have chosen this only this time. There are a year. They could have chosen other days of the celebration of this.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:There is a history behind it when, billions of years ago, this earth, when it happened, there was no one here because the sun was very close to the earth. It was very hot. Nobody can survive. It was difficult to survive, and these days is also. If sun comes closer to the earth, it will be. Our lives will be gone Because this kind of heat cannot survive. I am going to tell you that now. It is scientifically proven. If one gram of one gram is a measurement In one kilogram, there is 100 grams, a thousand grams. So those little part of the sun. If we can bring on the earth, little part of it, it will kill almost 140 miles. Everyone. Just one little part of it. It has so much heat.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Can you believe, when the sun is very close to the earth it cannot grow anything. All living being. They cannot survive. Nobody can survive because no water, nothing. But there is a few couple of rivers. They have a little water in it totally. One is Ganges, one is Sindhu. These two rivers, they come from the Himalayas, somehow they have a little water. Even the sun is very hot. They never dry those rivers. And those rivers are very popular. They are always full of water, but on the very beginning of the time they have also very little water in it because the sun is too hot. It evaporates everything, it dries everything. Can you believe if there is 12 years drought on the earth, no rain, what is going to happen? Drought everywhere, drought, no water, no harvest, nothing Trees. When there are no trees, no rain. Right. It is because of the trees. They keep releasing oxygen a lot and that is the way this cycle goes on. Rain sometimes is autumn, sometimes winter, sometimes summer, because of the trees. Trees are playing the biggest role for this environment to survive everywhere, all the living beings. So it doesn't mean on this earth when sun is very close, that everybody dies.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:People survive on the tunnels. There are big tunnels on this earth, big tunnels. They can survive because the heat cannot reach there. But during the day it's very hot and they just go in at night. There is nothing to it. They come out at night. Sun goes little further and whatever available in the water may be water, like fishes or something. Water is so low level they cannot survive even and they go out From the water. It's hot and it comes out and it is sun is so hot. Even the fish jumps out from the water. It gets cooked. That is the way they used to survive In the very beginning of the time when it begins our earth. That is the way it survived and was there was. Nothing else can survive. Fish are the other creatures. In the water they survive, but if by chance, water is hot, they jumped out and they get cooked right away. That is the way human found out to survive. They come at night. Very little population, it's no population. How it can increase without food and without water? Water they have, it, they take with them and then they somehow survive, because water is first need and tunnels are everywhere, but there are. This earth it can be hollow inside. It's not that it is a solid. Somewhere is hollow, somewhere is a solid.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Long time ago, when RS, what you call that Soviet Union, the USSR, now it is Russia and it was the biggest country, and they were experimenting lot of things. They wanted to see what is inside the earth. They started digging it and they dug it Maybe more than a mile or more, almost maybe could be one and a half mile underneath and they began to see underneath there are creatures, worms, and they are surviving under the earth. Then they put the special cameras when they were digging, drilling, drilling, and they stopped this discovery. They wanted to find out what is inside the earth. When they heard, they went a little too deep and they heard through the camera. Whatever they put it in the drilling system, they heard screaming, crying of human. They have to stop this discovery.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Many people they think that, oh, there was no money. That's why they stopped this. No, it was the richest day, no day for USSR. No, it's not the question of money. Question was they didn't want to hurt. Could be inside of the hollow this earth? There may be population, they may be always, survive. Sun cannot hurt them, but there is no way they can come out.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:There is only one tunnel and people are not aware about it, but they are researching about it. This tunnel is mentioned in the lot of scriptures in India. This tunnel is connected. All the six continents, all over six continents, it is connected with that tunnel. It runs from north to south, east to west, but we don't know it where it is, because in the south pole there is too much, you know, miles deep. That tunnel may be got lost under the snow and whoever is inside, they cannot come out, but there is a big hole. They can still see the sunlight, but not like we do it here. There is water everywhere, so could be a population, but somehow we cannot go there or they cannot come out there.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:There is a tunnel when they are working on it, antarctica, on the south pole. There is a lot of research going on. If somehow the snow is melted, our, this world will be in trouble too lot of water ocean will rise. When it will rise it, the city, like New York city, like on the beaches, they will be under water again. So you never know, maybe the nature keeps it. That tunnel is there.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Until that tunnel is discovered, each country they can right away, they can reach within few minutes to the other country. That tunnel connects everything. But that tunnel tunnel is like lost now. Hopefully they will discover one day. But we are all connected again. There is no need to travel 10,000 miles from Japan to here or India to here when that tunnel is available. It will take few minutes to come from there Because now that tunnel, we can make that tunnel like a space and you put the anything, push it in the space, whatever speed, only you have to stop it. You need a force to stop In the space. There is no dharma-tika. Dharma-tika is there but dharma-tika is opposite to stop. So that tunnel can be made like a space and it will take only few minutes to get another country. It is a connectivity. It is there but it is lost.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:My point is when, very in the beginning, there was no rain, there was nothing on this earth. It was like a fire kind of. Slowly, time passes, 100,000, year pass, million year pass, it began to become little cooler. Sun may be settling down somewhere, its distance. If there is no atmosphere, then the sun can burn us. We need to keep that atmosphere and that's why each country they are working on environmental purpose, because ozone level the more it gets wider, the sun will begin to burn again. It can be same situation again if we are not aware about it, about the pollution, and the pollution is most. Pollution is it was created free-on. All air condition, all these things Free-on is the worst thing for the ozone level. No wonder it is. Now they are making this free-on, maybe synthetic. It will not hurt as much they used to hurt it to the ozone. So if this everything there, no atmosphere, ozone level it become wider, then the sun rage will come straight. They are the one who protect us. So if this happen, if we are not aware about it, that's why the Jain system if you read their scripture, they talk about ecology first. Ecology means now you have to protect this earth. How that what it is.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:In Indian culture there is a Ganesha. They made lot of stories about it that he has an elephant head, his face and his body is human body. And many people they make fun of the Indian culture, but they didn't know that he was the first ecologist. They worship him Not for the right reason. Right reason is fully forgotten Because those days there was no writing system. He is students. They don't know how to maintain his teachings that people will follow all the time. So they made his statue half human, half elephant. That the animal and human. They supposed to live in harmony. If they don't live in harmony then it will be a big trouble.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:I am going to give you one little example. We are afraid of snakes and snake is afraid of us. It's opposite. If a snake sees a human, it runs away, and if a human sees a snake, it runs away too. Both are afraid. But what is the purpose of snakes on the earth? If you will research deeply you will find out.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:In Indian scripture we don't call snake a snake. Either we call it serp or we call it pavanahari. Pavanahari means the air, the wind. Ahari means who eats the air, who eats the air. It is a symbolic. Not eating it means it purifies the air. It sucks all the bad elements, bad things, bad bacteria from the air. And no wonder most of snakes are very poisonous. The most poisonous snake is the most beneficial for the environmental purposes, but we have no idea, because it purifies the air. When it purifies the air, we breathe it.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:We survive. Can you believe? It is just one example? I know thousands of examples like that. You will be surprised If we begin to read about animals.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Without them, we cannot survive. They are the ones who are keeping us alive. Go existence. That is the first Jain system. Go existence. Go existence means parasparop graho jivanam. That is our slogan. Parasparop graho jivanam. It is written there under their logo of Jain. Parasparop graho jivanam. Go existence. Don't kill other creatures because of your hunger. No, go existence. Learn how to live peacefully together in harmony. That's what Ganesha was. Ganesha was teaching this system and their student, they made that statue. Now it is just worshiping that statue Instead of learning what were the real teachings of this extraordinary person. He is known to be the son of the Shiva, son of Aadheenath, and even Shiva told don't pay respect to me first. Pay respect to him that he is the one who discovered this theory, who discovered this truth that we cannot survive without others. It is very important. I went to Chicago one time and visited a museum. I saw there is one little jar Means a bottle, kind of fully tied on the top.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:No air can go, air tied. But there it was written there Inside that big glass pot, it was one baby snake and one plant and they were surviving both. Plant was alive and snake was alive and tightly closed.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:And it was written they are surviving. Why they are surviving? Because of each other. A little plant needs carbon dioxide to survive. Who provides the carbon dioxide? Baby snake and the plant releasing the oxygen. Who needs oxygen to survive? A little snake? They need oxygen, so they both are surviving.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Wow, the Jain system. Here too. Parasparop, graho, jeeva Naam. They wrote co-existence. They translated it the universal principles are everywhere. But they began to think, oh, this is ours, we discovered it. Hey, not discovered. It is a long time ago. Those principles were there, those, the concept of that was there, and it is written in the scriptures, thousands and thousands of years old. But that is the way why they chose this day. I am going to shed the light on you. Why this?
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:After thousands of years, this earth began to become little cooler and atmosphere began to grow little bit. And the people who lived in the caves or big tunnels, caves, and they were little scared. First time, rain when atmosphere built. That's when rain begins. Without atmosphere, rain doesn't begin. And it was raining continued. One day, two days, three days, four days, five days, six days, seven days, seven weeks. It was raining continued. When rain continued. Rain is the one which brings all this, all this greenery. They began to grow right away. They just need a right temperature and soil and water. They are already there, their seeds are already there and they began to grow. When they began to grow when they come at night because it's still very hot, but not that hot they began to think what is rain? They were scared of it. They didn't want to come out. And when they come out, they see everywhere greenery. When they see greenery, they think this is something else. They got so scared that they are going to eat us, because if you don't know what it is, that's what it happened.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Like caterpillars, you know caterpillars, some caterpillars, other kind of. They have a thorn on their body and it is poisonous. Totally Not what we see here, but another kind of caterpillar look like that. They have a, all thorns all around the body. There are creatures like that. But if you, by mistake, you touch it, that creature which looks like a caterpillar, that thorn once enter into your finger, all the poison from the body begin to go into your blood. It can kill a person. It's so poisonous. That's the way they protect themselves. There are other creatures. When somebody attacks, it opens up all the thorns, all hair. Hair is like a thorn, even the lion, even the other creature. They cannot kill those small creatures and that is the protection.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:So they thought it is something they are going to kill us and they were so scared. Somehow they have they touched it, they didn't kill us, they got little, much easier to live with it. And they go out everywhere, greenery, greenery, and they say maybe it is something else. They try to taste it and it tastes totally different. And after seven weeks of rain, bushes they begin to give little bearish. Many bushes they grew and they begin to give little bearish. And they tasted it. It tastes totally different than the meat, but they were used to it and they think, oh, the nature, give us something to eat. And they begin to eat that. They begin to taste everything. New adventures begins.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:But one day, when they tasted it, when they finally got the idea it was the month of Indian astrology, our Indian calendar, you can say it was a Shard-Savan Bhajo, bhadravadi-tryodashi. Bhadravadi-tryodashi means 13th day of the Bhadramat. Bhadra is like around August and September according to Indian calendar. It was dark night, or 13th day of dark night, and it was so greenery everywhere and they tasted everything. And then, when they decided that the nature begin to give us another kind of food. We don't need anything. So it was after 8 days. It was Bhadrasudhi Panchami. Bhadrasudhi Panchami means 5th day of Moonlit night, 5th day. Today is the 5th day of the Moonlit night. New moon begins and today is the 5th day. It is a Bhadrasudhi Sudhi means Moonlit night, 5th day of Moonlit night.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Whoever they were in that maybe hundreds of people they lived in the cave. They come out and they decided now, this day, we will celebrate because it's a new beginning. New era begins, new food begins. We can survive with this food. And they all took the vow till now we will eat all these vegetables. They took the vow today that we will learn whatever we used to survive on the meat. That's why this is the revolutionary day.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:And Jain chose that day, that day the people first time. It is revolutionary day because they took the vow that we will be vegetarian Vegetation everywhere. And when they took the vow, they think they sat, they sit together and they were discussing about all this vegetation and they said today we will not eat anything, we will not drink anything. This is our new beginning. So that day today, 5th day, neither they drink water, neither they ate anything. And because they were trans Transition is going to happen. Next day they will be totally different. This day, everyone, they didn't eat Everyone, they didn't drink water. And that is the way the Jain system chosen that day, revolutionary day in the history of the earth. It is not a Jain day Jains, they are in illusion that we celebrate this, but they have chosen best day.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Like Christianity, they have chosen Jesus' birthday. What is Christmas? What is the Christmas? 24th December or 25th December? And Jesus was not born that day. If you read about the history of Jesus, he was born either in June or in April sometime. It has nothing to do with Jesus' birthday of Christmas. But why they have chosen to celebrate his birthday on Christmas? Because it was big and sad already.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:If you read the history, it was the pagan's day. They believed in nature, pagan in Europe. So pagans used to celebrate this. Why? Because it was time to bring the harvest inside your home. All the harvest is ripe and they bring all the new, all this food to eat. So that was the pagan's day and it was already popular. Because all the people were celebrating it. Because when something comes into your home, you will celebrate, you will be happy, you will be dancing. That's what they used to dance and it was already so popular People were celebrating it. So Christianity chose Jesus' birthday that day.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:They have chosen it. It was not born that day, but it was not born that day. Same way, it is not a Jan's day. Jan's are in illusion that it is our day, but they have chosen the best day to celebrate this Perusion. To celebrate because in the beginning they took the vow. We will be now turning. Not eating fish that was the used to be it Not killing other creatures. We will be surviving on the vegetation, and that is the revolutionary day. They took the vow that day and they re-entered. They re-entered that day. That's what Jan has chosen this day.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:This is a Bhadrasudhi Panchami. Panchami means fifth day of Moonlit, new Moon, second Moon day, third, fourth, fifth. Today is fifth. Other sect, one of the Shreya Tambar sect they try to do. It comes usually the 49th day of the when the rain begins in the beginning. It is the 49th day today. When the rain continues, in seven weeks it becomes 49th day. So one of the sects of Jan. They celebrate one day early, this one Fourth day of the Moonlit night instead of fifth day, why it was an emergency and it now becomes a tradition, because kings were fighting. One king attacked another king and the king who was fighting, he was a Jan, and they want to celebrate this Periyusha, the day of forgiveness, and he asked Acharya that we have to go to the battlefield.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:And if we go today and we have to. There is no choice because all the other armies there and tomorrow is the celebration and we always fast that day. So what do we do that you can celebrate one day early? So Acharya gave the permission because of emergency situation, but now it is a tradition, one of the group. They begin to celebrate one day early, but no matter one day early or next day, the purpose is the same. Purpose is they don't drink, they don't eat and they always into meditative state. So this is the revolutionary day and day of forgiveness. They were asking forgiveness from the other creature that we have eaten to you long time, because we didn't know there are so much sweet fruits, sweet berries, sweet everything. And that is the way our life begins on this earth Easy way. It was a life. Life never finished from the earth, even though it was hard, but people find the way out to survive. If nuclear happened on this earth hopefully never happened, but if it happened so the people will still survive. They already made those cities underground and they are the one who will go there and survive. Right, they are going to survive. They find the way. Hopefully it doesn't happen.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Third World War Somebody asks Albert Einstein that what you think about the Third World War? He said I cannot say anything about the third world war, but I can predict the fourth world war. He said why it is that fourth world war never going to happen? That's what he said, his statement. Listen carefully what he said. I can predict the fourth world war never going to happen because if third world war happens, everything will be destroyed. And he is right If something happens, everything will be gone again. We will be the same thing. Our planet will be like a Mars again no atmosphere, no atmosphere here. There is oxygen, little bit, but it's not enough to create that atmosphere here. There may be water, but it is underground and it's not on the surface. So no atmosphere. Yes, he is right. So this day is a very important day of forgiveness. They ask forgiveness from every living being. That's what we teach today and everyone today, especially the following Om Dajjan system.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:They not only fast, their fasting system is to burn the karma. Their fasting system is not to make the body something special no. Their idea is not to fasting just to make yourself healthy and body beautiful no. Or lose weight no, their idea is to burn the karma. Karma is the one who is making you suffer, who is giving you all the pain. So to burn the karma, fasting is very important. Fasting is a fire and fire can burn everything. That's what they do fasting. Sometimes they do fasting If something happens in somebody's case.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:That's the way it can happen. It happened in my case. I wanted to just experiment. Maybe let's see one thought entered into my mind. Then let's see how the nature wants me to survive, how long Wrong idea entered.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:But it gave me a very positive experience. I thought, maybe four days, because I was 14 years old and this wrong idea happened and it can kill you. Actually, this idea, and when teenagers they think they know it all, even the senior monks, they try to stop me, don't I enter the idea and you want to go for it Maybe? I thought four days is enough, I will survive four days. I started one day and next day my body became very painful. Everywhere is pain, every single cell was suffering. I thought, at least I will do four. Then third day was worse. Today, fourth day was the worst of worst. As soon as I entered in the fifth day, all pain disappeared. I thought, wow, it is the real fasting begins.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:I continued, continue fasting and the senior monks were a little worried that, as a teenager fasting, I didn't want to break it Every day I was increasing. Eighth day, ninth day, tenth day it happened to be, in my case, naturally, 32 days. 32 days happened by itself and lot of experience. I am not going to explain here, but it was an experiment. It was not just fasting in my case, it was totally different. I wanted to experience it and I did it.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:I might mention here and there in my books fasting or other books are coming on the way. But yes, fasting gives you lot of experience. It can bring, it can burn all the karmas or it can bring all the bad karma on the surface. They begin to give you result right away, Instead of giving result after 10 years. They will give you result today Because you have to go through whatever you have collected. So I am going to tell you these days, pariyushan day, if you have animity towards any living being, animity towards any other human being, ask forgiveness. If you will not ask forgiveness, your animity will continue. It will not stop Because life continues. Life is one, but it's continued Because soul never dies, it is eternal. So they may be on the way. We get new body.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:There is a different story, but soul same soul continue. It goes on and on. So if you have animity towards anyone, you will be animi again on the next life. You will meet again and you will fight with each other, you will kill each other, you will hate each other. So the system, jain system, it is developed. If you have something bad thoughts about anybody else or you have built animity towards anyone, ask forgiveness, clear hair, everything Otherwise it will continue on the next body, next body continue, never ending. Somebody is killing today a goat. The goat will become a butcher, will kill you next life, but it will continue.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:So it is better to stop it. Stop what is. Killing is not a good. Hurting is not others' feelings. Hurting physically, mentally, verbally is not a good. You better ask forgiveness, otherwise continue this animity and you will increase your birth and death. It is cycle never going to end. Perusion we celebrate to end the cycle. That is what you need to burn the karma, and the karma is the one which is increasing your cycle of rebirth and death. It continues this cycle and animity is increasing a lot. So that is what you need to clear it.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:I became a monk when I was 14. And we were in the one city. There were, I knew that, two main people in that organization. They hate each other and they were. It is a gen system. In one day, at least one day once a year, everybody has to become a monk, even one day. They wear the same clothes, like a dress of the monk, and the male stay with the male monks and the female stay with the female monks. So there is separate residence and they get together hundreds, whatever they are that city and they. We call it the special technique poshad. Poshad means you are looking at your soul only looking at yourself, only that everybody else is better than me, except me Eucritsizing yourself. So they stick with the monks. They become one day monk and they don't eat, they don't drink at all. That one day we becoming a monk one day. Why to eat and why to bother to drink? So it is called poshad vrat. It is a special technique. They become a monk. They were both there.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:I talked to the head. It is time today. Ask forgiveness from him and if you will not ask forgiveness, continue. Your enmity will continue. You increase your life, birth cycle, death and birth increase. You will suffer a lot. He said, as you say, I am ready to ask forgiveness from him. I said he is a good person. I went to the other that hey, today is a samvatsari, last day of prohibition. We call it day of forgiveness. Ask forgiveness from him Because you know, we know it, you hate each other. Oh yeah, this is a special day. I will ask forgiveness. I was happy that. Oh, I did something. Good job today In the evening, around 4-5 o'clock, they do prathikraman.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Prathikraman is a special technique for give every single living being and their name is mentioned everywhere. Sometimes it takes 2 hours, sometimes it takes 4 hours and before prathikraman it is all asking forgiveness from every single living being, no matter it is vegetation, no matter it is other creature, no matter. You did knowingly hurt someone, unknowingly hurt someone. So that is a process of forgiveness. That, hey, it is time for forgiveness. You better ask. It was time that they will ask forgiveness. I was hoping.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:The one guy he went to a senior monk and he said, can I ask you a question before this process began? That's yeah, you can ask that. How many bad hell planets? He said mostly the worst planet of hell, according to our scripture. There are 7. They are the worst. One Hellish planet, where people suffer, suffer, suffer. That's what we call that hell. They call simply hell. We call it hellish planet and we have their name too, actually. And those planets, they really exist, but there is no happiness there, always suffering. You know what he said that I am ready to go to the 14th world, but I am not going to ask forgiveness from him. Now, there are people like that. It means they are ready to go to the 14th worst hell. There are only 7. I heard it. Wow, this person never going to get enlightened, this person never going to be out of the cycle of birth and death. It continue, continue. It is called abhavi, jiva. Abhavi means they never going to be out of the cycle, they never going to get enlightened, they never going to cross this ocean of suffering, always into it. So it is better, if you hold grudges, if you hold anything towards anyone, it is better to ask forgiveness. At least clear yourself. If they don't clear, that is their problem. If you clear yourself, if you have any grudges towards anyone, holding grudges it means it is very bad anger, Very bad anger. If you get annoyed, if you get irritated easily, it means you are holding lot of anger inside of you. These are the family of anger, big family. So it is better to clear everything today and we have a special system. I will recite, you will recite after me, but before that I want to finish little things.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Whatever is meditation, the Prashansar? It is Digambar book Prashansar, chapter 2 and 99. Shloka Na hanam homi parensi na me paren santi na haam aham ekko idhi jo jhaidhi jaane. So apanam havdhi jada that the meditator who is totally in meditative state. In the meditative state, he thinks or she thinks and the person thinks that I am, I don't belong to others. First thing, they think I don't belong to others, or the other is not mine. That is the way they think in the meditative state. And when they think that I am not for others and other is not me, when they think that, like other is a other, it cannot be you, no matter how much we say, oh, I am mother and daughter, we are one. No, no, no, no, no. It is totally different body, totally different mind, totally different brain. How can you be one? Maybe when you were a baby you think you are one, but when you grow up your idea began to be totally different, right? So I am not for for means others and other is not me either. Other, all these material, whatever we think, oh, it is mine. Whatever we collect, all these money, right, all these belonging is not you. They will be here always. If it is yours, they will go with you, but they never go with you. Nothing goes with you. The best thing is just get out of that situation. Many people think, oh, they are very unlucky people.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:There was one kingdom the king heard that in my kingdom there is a one guy. If somebody sees his face early in the morning they cannot get even food. King got so curious. Kings are little kind of mental. They get easily affected by. He called that person in his palace that day. You sleep here tonight, I will see your face. Early in the morning the guy came. They arranged his system. As soon as king woke up he went to see his face.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:And that day, by chance, it happened the kingdom. There was emergency. King got so busy into the kingdoms affair he didn't have time to eat the food, lunch or dinner. He got so busy. It was emergency, something Maybe other king was planning to attack. He has to do. He didn't have time to eat In the evening. He thought when he was eating he is really a unlucky person. I saw his face. I didn't have even my food. He ordered hang him. He is really unlucky. Now. He experimented, tested it. He ordered King's order is ordered.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Next day they were hanging him. The King said hey, wait, ask him if he has a last wish. They asked that I want to talk to the King. That's what my last wish is. The King came. That's what you need to talk to me. That, hey, you saw my face. You didn't get the food. Look, I saw your face early morning. I am getting hanged up.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Who is unlucky? Get out of this idea. You never know. We think, oh, this is a lucky person. What about you? I saw your face, look at what I am getting. You didn't get only food. King got a little shake, shake out. He said you are right. Then Nobody is lucky there, leash him. So that is the. Our idea needs to be broken. Whatever we are holding inside of us, we need to ask forgiveness, otherwise meditation will not happen. Other is not you, you is not others. All this material is not your. You think it is your illusion, like King's illusion. He is unlucky. Person who sees his first face early in the morning will not get the food. It was by chance he didn't get the food. But he was right too that I saw your face. Look, you are killing me. I am getting death. Think about it.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:The person who always meditated. They always think about that. I am not for others, other is not mine. So and they begin to think about the soul, about the Atma and what they do. They, the person who thinks into meditation that much so upon them, how they jada that person begin to think I am purest, I am Shuddh Buddha, chaitanya, that is in our Sanskrit word. Shuddh means purest. One Buddha means awakened. One Chaitanya means total aliveness. That's what that person can enter into meditation. That is Prasannasar. Second one Jhanatthi yo hujoi jayno samveya visaya apanam niya ya panam to nam lai tam suddam bhag viheenu jaha raya nam. This is a very beautiful sutra.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Jhanatthi yo hujoi, the person who is meditator or a yogi, who is always in meditation, jhanatthi yo hujoi jay means yogi, jayno samveya niya ya panam, and even it is in meditation, but he doesn't feel any sensation into the body, no sensation. It is called samvedan, samvedan, spandana, svedana. Like you become so sensitive, your body becomes so sensitive. Like the baby body is very sensitive. Same way, a yogi's body who is in meditation doesn't become sensitive and he never felt that sensation. Tona lai tam suddam. That yogi, that meditator, cannot achieve the purest state of consciousness or the purest state of soul, like if they don't feel it. Any sensation, any sensitivity in the body. If the body is not sensitive, you cannot go deep into the consciousness it has to be. If somebody doesn't feel it, he is a lucky person, like a person who has a in front of it, in front of it, the diamond, but it considers it is a stone. That's what they think.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:A pot maker. He has a one donkey. He goes to the forest. He dug the soil clay and he brings the clay to the home. He found a one stone. It was a little shining. He tied it into the thread and he said if I will do, if I will tie my neck, I will not look so beautiful. If I will put tie into my donkey's neck, he will look so beautiful. He tied that stone into his neck. It became like a kind of necklace for the donkey and he was going to the home.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:One person said I want to sell this stone. I can give you one dollar, like big money. Those days one rupee Rupee was stronger than dollar. Those days it was a time Indian rupee was even stronger than the dollar and he said one rupee, ah, no, no, I want hundred rupee if you want to. No, no, hundred rupee. He went further.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Another fellow. He said do you want to sell this? I can give you hundred rupees. He said no, I don't want hundred rupees, it is up to you. Hundred rupees is like a big money. He began to think I was ready to give him one rupee or two. Now hundred may be better, Sell it. He sold it and next day he was going out.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:That necklace was not in the tank, it's a neck, the first person who wanted to buy, with one rupees and he was not ready to sell it. He said hey, where that necklace is, I sold it. That how much did you sell? Hundred rupees, hey, they deceived you. You know that stone it was not. It was million rupees worth.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:It was a special time that you supposed to cry, you supposed to be sad. You know what he said that, not I supposed to cry, I didn't know the value of it, you knew the value of it. You didn't want to buy even one little money. I am not a loser, you are the loser. That's what we are doing. They are lucky person who doesn't feel the sensation, sensitivity into the body. They are like a lucky of that diamond jewelers who lost this big stone. He could have paid hundred, even two hundred thousand, even he was a million rupees worth special diamond. That is the way the yogi, who didn't feel any sensitivity and sensation into the body. It means they are lucky, like he lost the most precious stone.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Third one what is meditation? Dravesangra is a one book. I have read that one. Dravesangra, dravesangra, 56th loka. In there it is written in Sanskrit Maa chittha, the meditator, maa chittha, he doesn't move his body anywhere.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:No movement into the body. When a real meditator, the body doesn't move, body doesn't go left or right or this or that. No, maa jampa, not even any like gestures of the body, even they don't do even any gestures of the body, maa chittha, they don't think anything into the body. Kim vijayin, hoi thiru, and they don't speak any words, not thinking anything. All these bodies, totally fully, totally fully, is no movement in it. And your speech, no movement in it. And your mind thinking, no movement in it. It means all these three under your control as a meditator. When these three yoga, they are under their control, everything will be established, everything will be totally stopped. Body will stop, even your breath begin to stop. Then your soul begins to move into the soul. When soul begins to move into the soul, that is the real meditation. If you want to, that you want to move. But where? Move into the soul. Soul begins to move into the soul, not into the body, not into the speech, not into the thinking, no, not into the mind, nothing. So soul moving into the soul, and that is called param dhyan. That is the real meditation.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Drabh vesangra, last one I am going to tell you Jaha chiram sancheyam midhanam manalo. Pavan sahiyoduyam duhai taha kamedhanam amayam khanayajananalo dahai dhyanshata. Dhyanshata is a very popular book in Jain. System 101 shloka in the dhyanshata and this is very important In the dhyanshata they mention about the meditation, jaha chiram sancheyam indhanam manalo.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Like if you collected lot of wood for the winter, right, and many people in this country or Europe they collected lot of wood that in the winter they will burn it. They have big energy, they can warm the water or warm the house. That's what they used to do. That you, they collected a lot and many people they collect to sell it and they have the biggest storage. That's the way that you collected whole year like the woods and suddenly by mistake or somebody crazy person put the fire in it and that you collected whole year the wood.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:It burns very quickly. That wood burns very quickly because what burns the very quickly? The wind. Wind is blowing and there is no way to stop it Because wind burns so quickly. Same way, the meditation is a fire that fires meditation kind of fire. Whatever you collected, unlimited karma, unlimited. There is no limit. It is Infinite karma if you have collected. But if that fire happens into your body, the fire of meditation can burn Infinite karma very quickly. But that wind has to be there, wind of meditation, wind or the fire of meditation. They will help both. If your mind, your speech, your body, totally no movement in it, that fire will going to be produced by itself, it will happen by itself and it will going to burn all the karma. And when all the karma will going to burn, that is, there is nothing left except your pure soul, and the pure soul is the real meditation. These are the meditation we can go through and it can happen to anyone. I am going to give you one example, and it can happen suddenly, how it burns so fast.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:It is a story about the Krishna's brother. His name was Gaj Sukumal. He was so fragile when he was born. They call him Gaj Sukumal like a fragile, like elephant baby, new born baby. Right, that body was so fragile. He was eight years old and one of the Tirthankars. Those days it was Krishna's cousin. His name was Nemi Nathara Arishna Nemi, 22nd Tirthankar. It is like 100,000 years ago, minimum. So that was the 22nd Tirthankara. He was happened to be out of Dwarka. Dwarka was Krishna was a ruler of Dwarka city. It is near the ocean. Now that city went to the ocean. But Krishna's time it was really a very popular city. They found it all these stones, all these walls under the ocean, but it is too much now. Anyway, it happened, and even Krishna, because they were very close. The cousin, he went to hear his spiritual discourse, even to go to sit around the Tirthankara is a very, very peaceful, but if you hear something it is a most precious thing. His younger brother, he said I want to go with you eight years old.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:He went to. But Krishna was so attached to this younger brother. He found a very beautiful girl and he said you going to marry this girl when you become a young, I will bring this girl into my palace and we will raise that girl when you become younger, the Krishna already for him. They're not married but arranged it and she is brought up like a princess in the palace. And his father, her father, was a Somal, he was a Brahmin, he used to believe in the Yajna fire ceremonies. Always he used to go collect the wood from the forest, special wood For the fire ceremony. There is a special wood. It's not available. It is called Thak. Thak is very, very rarely but it happens to be the desert. Maybe we can find in Arizona, somewhere, nevada, somewhere, that wood. And he used to collect and he used to do fire ceremony and he went there with his brother.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:He heard and he got so affected, this eight years old boy. He said to Krishna I want to live with him, with the Tirthankar. Then no, you need to go back home. He insisted that I want to be with him. I want to be with him. I don't know what happened to me. I want to be with him I don't want to live. They tried to make him understand.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:But next day he was so attached to his younger brother they tried to stop him. He didn't want to, he wanted to go with him. And next day they tried. Everyone tried mother, father, krishna, everyone. That is very difficult path. You have to renounce everything. I don't know what happened to me. I don't want to be in the palace anymore, I want to be in the garden.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:He got so affected. Krishna took him to the Tirthankara with the big hustle and bustle, the whole city following it, whole army, that he is renouncing the world like that way, the whole city behind him. He is sitting on the elephant and he took him and he gave to him that I am giving my brother to you. We tried to stop him. He didn't. He got hit something inside the heart fully. We cannot stop him. You better take care of him.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:And Neminatharista named me. He initiated him right away, eight years old Then, no hair on the head, everything all renounced. And in the evening he came to the Tirthankara and he asked Bhante, that's what is a special word? Oh, my God, I want to do special kind of sadhana which I can burn all the karma very quickly that what kind of sadhana you wish to do.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Fourteenth, pratima is a special kind of sadhana that you have to go to the cemetery where people they burn the dead body or they bury it and whole night. I want to meditate there and she permitted him that, yes, you can go. He went there in the evening and in that kind of sadhana there is always up-sarga means very difficult situation can happen. Whoever do try to do that kind of special spiritual practices, they have to stand in the cemetery and if somebody biting it and snakes, any creature attacking they cannot move. And that is a very difficult sadhana. And he got permission, eight years old. He went to the evening. He went there and he is standing in one posture it is called kaya tsarga, when he doesn't move, his space totally, his mind, totally settled, not thinking anything. He, his soul, began to move into the soul, real meditation, how the karma get burned within very quickly and it is. We collected those karma, like we collected the wood whole year. We collected maybe whole of our unlimited lives and how they can get burned very quickly.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:That is the example of Gai Sukumar, this eight years old boy. He is standing there suddenly the father of the daughter who is collecting the wood from the forest, because the cemetery is in the forest, usually out of city, and he is coming after collecting and he saw him that he is a covered man. My daughter could be in the royal family if he could have married her and he is in out snake. I am going to teach him lesson Now. My daughter cannot be princes anymore. His animity started there. He put the wood away. There is nobody's son sat already, but people in the cemetery. They were burning the dead body and the dead body. They burned it mostly and the embers were still there.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:What he did? He brought the clay little pond there close by and he made around his head bald head, no hair. He made like a circle and the clay can stay there. He made like a little wall around the head. And what he did? I am going to teach him lesson. He left my daughter.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:He brought embers, burning embers, and he put in his hand there and the embers cannot go down. Now he filled up his head with the ember. They cannot fall down and that is the biggest upsaar upsaar, I mean most difficult situation and he ran away from there and when the clay was there now it is dry. Now the ember cannot fall down, even Because the more it was wet, now it is dry and it is fully become like a wall around his head. It began to burn His head and he is into the soul. He is not into the body, he is not into the mind, he is not into the no thinking. He is standing. Total tolerance, total patience. He is just thinking about you know, it is my karma. I cannot move. There are lot of creatures around me, millions of them. See, if the embers will go, they are biting me, very fine, but they are going to get killed, millions of it. They are around their houses. He is standing totally steady in the coyote circle. He doesn't move his hand, he doesn't move his body. He is burning alive. Can you believe how much pain it will be? Burning alive and totally in the head. He was in so deep into the meditative state, so deep, so deep, so deep. Those embers. They burned all of his karma right away. His body fell down later on the ground. His soul went to the Siddha Loka, merged with the God. It became Siddha.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:In the morning Krishna was so much he was missing his younger brother. He went to. Early morning he went to visit the Tirthankara to the darshan. He went, he went, he did the vandan to the Tirthankara and he is looking here and there, that vande when is. I want to, I want to pay respect to my younger brother. He is. He said somebody helped him. He is not here. He achieved what he wanted to achieve. Somebody helped him. Yeah, somebody helped him. He asked me permission to go to the cemetery and I permitted him and somebody, helper, came and he achieved. Already he is in the moksha, he is in the Siddha Loka. That who was the helper? Can you tell me? Who was the helper? Helper? Helper is if when you go towards that cemetery and somebody on the way to see you and begin to run, that will be the helper.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Krishna was so sad, he was too attached to his younger brother and on the top, eight years old, he went towards that the cemetery to get the dead body. And you know, but in the morning he woke up early in the morning, the daughter's father, somila, and he wanted to make sure he is dead, that if otherwise I will be in trouble, make sure there is no nothing. Then suddenly, when he was saw it is, everything is okay. He was coming back towards the city and he saw on the other side Krishna's horses, chariots, they are coming and he was coming from the Tirthankara and Somila. Thought he knows, now that I killed his brother he is going to kill me now. He started running so fast and Krishna got him Like Garchakramma within maybe not even 30 minutes. He burned all of his infinite karma. Infinite karma.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:But can we have that kind of tolerance? We do one fasting, we get disturbed, we do little thing. We cannot stay without food. Even we get so much disturbed. Even the water, if we don't get it, many people die for it. We can't burn that karma. The fire can burn all the karma, but it has to be real fire of meditation.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:In kaya utsarga, we call it kaya utsarga. Kaya means body, utsarga means you leave the body, you are not dead, but you don't have anything in it. No movement, no gestures, no speech, no thinking inside, nothing. You are totally moving into the soul. When, totally moving into the soul, that is the kalparamdhyam, that is the meditation. And people think meditation is very easy as close eyes and just do little bit. That is not a meditation. Your mind is wandering somewhere else. Your body stops even little movement. How can you be meditator. Meditator was the best one. If you want to go, go to the third hill, he was the meditator, bahubali. He was standing one year in meditative post. He didn't drink, he didn't eat One year.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Meditation is not easy. To be awakened is not easy. To be a Buddha is not easy. To be a Shuddha is not easy. To be a totally enlightened is not easy. You have to go through lot of things. But meditation is the best path you can do and you can be even few minutes if your body movement sensation, your beats of your heart Even goes down totally and your breath begin to slow down. When the situation comes, you are totally steady. In that steadiness nothing is happening except your soul will pop up. And your soul, when it's really pop up, that meditation, real meditation, that is the biggest fire. It can burn all your karma.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:That is the Perusion Message I was giving all the time how you can achieve the highest state of consciousness. There are many techniques. I think I can talk about it so many examples. But today is the last day of the Perusion and the first day of the other tradition. It is a day of forgiveness and this day that's what I said Usually after 15 days, you clear yourself if you have any meeting. If you cannot do it, do it once a year at least. Whomever towards you are holding graces or anything, animity better clear from yourself. If other person is not ready, that is their business. But you clear your mind fully. You clear yourself fully. Otherwise again and again and again, animity will go on and you cannot burn the karma. Ask forgiveness, asking forgiveness is like burning the karma. So there is a. I am going to repeat one line in the brief and you repeat it. This way you can have this idea Khamemi save jiva, save jiva, khamantu me.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Miti me save bhuv esu. Veram machham na ke nahi. Khamemi save jiva. I want forgiveness from every living being. Khamemi save jiva means I ask forgiveness from every single living being. Maybe I kill them knowingly or unknowingly, or just in my dream or my physical body, or by my mind or by my speech I hurt someone or kill someone or hurt somebody's feeling. Khamemi save jiva, I want forgiveness. I ask forgiveness from every living being. Save jiva, khamantu me. May all the living beings also forgive me. Miti me save bhuv esu. I want friendship towards every living being. Miti means metri, metri means friendship. I want friendship towards every living being Veram machham na ke nahi. I don't want any enmity or grudges or holding anger towards anyone. That is the sutra of the forgiveness. Or another one I am going to recite now. Then you recite after that Jam jam manen badham.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Jam jam vayen bhasi anpavam. Jam jam kaayen karam. Jam jam manen badham. Jam jam manen badham. Whatever sin or karma I collected by my mind. Jam jam manen badham manen means mind Whatever I have collected, the garbage, all the trash, all this karma. Jam jam vayen bhasi anpavam or whatever I collected by my speech, abusive language, bad language, calling bad name someone. By my speech, I heard someone Jam jam kaayen karam or whatever I have done with my physical body to hurt someone, to kill someone. Jam jam manen badham.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Jam jam vayen Vayan means also with your speech, and jam jam kaayen karam, whatever it is. That's what I am going to do. I want forgiveness from every single living being today and may all of my, whatever I collected, become useless, because if you are really asking forgiveness, your soul will be very pure. And the sutra is the best sutra to ask forgiveness. It means you are making Nobody else, you making pure, you making pure yourself. That is the message of today, day of forgiveness, ask forgiveness from everyone. If somebody doesn't want to forgive you, that isn't their problem, their karma never going to be burned. But if you ask from your fully, from your mind, from your speech, from your, body, whatever your gestures, that it has to be Many people.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:They say sorry. They say sorry, but the way they say sorry it doesn't mean it is sorry. If real sorry, their gestures, their body action, everything involved in it, the other person they will accept the sorry. But saying sorry word it doesn't mean anything. I am going to give you last little bit idea about it.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:A sculptist, somebody, brought to him two big stones, rocks. They were sitting. One day he got into mood to make something sculpt out of it. He put he took his hammer and chisel. That's the way they used to do. He start shaping the rock to bring the face in it, right, beautiful. So when it was doing it, the rock spoke that I am in pain, don't please hit me. You are hitting, I feel pain. He stopped. Next day he was in the mood. He went to the second rock. He asked first, can I make good shape out of you, because it is a painful, but I want your permission. Rock said okay, you can do it. He started his hammer and chisel. He made a beautiful shape of Ganesha, another statue.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Next day somebody, a rich man, came to buy his sculpture and he saw this statue. He said hey, we have a big inauguration over a temple. We can. This is a beautiful statue. He bought it. But he said I want to buy this stone too which is sitting there. He sold both Statue. They established into the temple People worshipping it and the stone. He thought it is better put outside of the temple Because it is an Indian tradition, when they have some kind of new beginning, they have a coconut and they heat the coconut and they break it. When they break the coconut in first heat if it broke it is considered good luck that everybody come to feel full their wishes into that temple and they bring coconut and they worship that another rock and that stone they heat. Everybody comes and take.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:He's begin to think that I could have allowed to make a statue out of me. Now I have to go through pain all the time. They are all breaking the coconut on me, always hitting me, always hitting me. We have to learn this lesson in your life. We got hit again and again and again.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Many difficulties, many problems, and we try to stop it. We blame others, we do this, we do that. But if you don't go through any trouble, if you don't go through any struggle, if you don't go through any difficulty, time. I guarantee nobody is going to respect you. You want to be respected.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh:Let go through this life, through the struggle, through the tension, through the stress, through the depression, through the whatever difficulties on the way. But when you allow to go through, you become like a statue in the temple. But if you don't allow, you cry, you scream. Stop it, stop it, stop it, I don't want to go through it. Then you go through all of your life. They are going to break the coconut on you. Struggle could have been for a while, you could have gone through and learned from it. But if you don't want to learn all of your life they are going to hit you. You are going to go through the pain. Think about it. That is the real message of the Perusion Perusion, the purest celebration, and sammasari is the ending day, day of forgiveness. How have you learned? And go through and the person who go through? One day they become a special extraordinary. They become Siddha, buddha and Mukta. Siddha means liberated Buddha, awakened Mukta, totally released from all the karma. Jai Siddhatma.
